I 100% blame Brian Kelly for all of this BS

Least surprising thing ever is coming to the conclusion that Brian Kelly being the loser, fake car salesman that he was is still causing us bullshite.

1. BK promised DJ #5 while he was still in high school. It was in DJ’s NIL contract before his freshman season that he would wear 5. DJ’s dad literally said today he wouldn’t have committed here, had BK not promised it.

2. Least surprising thing ever is BK didn’t give JD5 a courtesy call to tell him he promised 5 to someone.

3. Next is today, BK stated that last year he didn't feel like it was appropriate before DJ ever played a snap to give him 5 and, therefore, reneged on his promise to DJ.

4. Nobody wears 5 in 2025 and DJ kills it earning freshman all American last year.

5. After the season, teams from everywhere were wanting to poach him so they had to renegotiate his NIL deal. It's come out that DJ was more insistent on the #5 than on the money in the deal. Seems like that is likely true.

6. Jayden was given zero heads up about 5 be given out until seeing it on social media.

My conclusion is the number is definitely important to DJ, but I think more than anything he's pissed he was lied to by BK. Jayden is obviously handling this very poorly, but I think there literally would have been no news about any of this had someone just given Jayden a two minute courtesy call heads up. That 100% should have been BK. It's certainly not on Kiffin and this staff. They were going to do whatever they could to keep one of the best CBs in the country.
