re: How was the fanbase showing in Atlanta?

Sat surrounded by OU fans. They whined relentlessly, have no idea on the rules of football, then condescendingly explain the rules of which they have no idea. Others were just ‘oh so happy to be here’ and others said ‘that line is way too much’. I knew before kickoff they had no idea what was coming.

It was loud, maybe not Tiger Stadium loud, but loud. We were in the same endzone as the Sooner band, opposite corner.
The OU fans were uptight with some really drunk ones mixed in.
I found it odd that there seemed to be a good bit of Bama fans there rooting against us (I know we aren't a rival, so I find it odd).
Overall it was a blast.

About 2 minutes into the second half. They abandoned the team after halftime.

To be fair, those are the club sections
They were probably inside drowning their sorrows in free booze

They never came back. They were that empty for the rest of the game.
Wherever they went.

And LSU fans stayed until the end. And were still loud on third and fourth downs. Waving and bowing every time the defense came off the field. We made a very good showing.

OU didn’t come close to having 40% of the crowd. The LSU sections were full. The OU uppers were not. I’d estimate that a 70/30 split, and that’s being generous to OU. Our fans traveled well for the game. We stayed at the LSU team hotel and it was a blast. Nothing but purple and gold everywhere.

My OU buddy was at the game he said 70/30 LSU
I was there and that is probably about right. The seats were red so it looked red but the OU side was virtually empty at halftime. The OU section near their band stayed mostly full but started emptying out in the 4th as well.
Most of the LSU fans stayed for the full game. It was loud but once we got up so much on them, I do think the noise from LSU fans probably wasn't as loud.
Awesome game to be at.

They has tons of empty premium seat on OK side from beginning. Then the ones who came left at half and it was then 80/20
