Yeah! Orgeron should have fired him after the Vandy game last season. If not then, after the Mississippi State game, and surely after the Ole Miss game.
Our defense was a Sieve, early in 2019.
With Burrow and that NFL roster we outscored everyone.

Aranda finally got it straightened out late in the season, in time for the Championship run.

This puzzles me if true. Was there a search. Was Pelini the only person interviewed for the position? If so that seems a serious misstep. This LSU defense is awful. Why it is so awful seems beyond a simple explanation, but I do not think Pelini was a good hire at all.

they are learning basically a brand new scheme, Aranda's LBs made all the plays, the DL was taught to hold blocks, LBs had free reign to do what they wanted... now they have to see some 300lb lineman coming for them and it slows them down... The DL is suppose to be making the tackles in the back field or around the LOS... thats not happening often and the LB's are being blocked by lineman... the DL cant miss tackles.. think back to when pelini was here and the DL we had... Dorsey, Jackson, etc... you gotta have the DL that can do it... Our DL are still in the holding pattern except for Gaye... its a whole different scheme... they will learn it but it will take time... Pelini is a damn good DC, he may not be the right fit for us right now, but he has had success eveywhere hes been on the defensive side of the ball... personally, i dont like the 4/3 and wish that we would have hired a 3/4 guy because we have the personnel for it and its highly multiple, its why the NFL runs it so much, that at the 4-2-5 with an edge rusher... basically the only two defenses the NFL runs... would have rather a NFL defensive assistant gotten the DC job. or a small school up and comer... Aranda was a stud DC... i thought he was the best in the land and i never wavered in 4 years on him... i think he will be great at Baylor and hopefully he takes over for CEO one day... they guy is just a damn genius... its why he was so highly coveted... I think the TAMU guy is damn good too, he just doesnt have the horses there... Geoff Collins was also damn good and I think you give him a few years at GA Tech and they should be competitive... another defensive guru..

Well I am going to say something that might not be popular, I think this current roster for several reasons is the worst since Miles 2014 team. Several reasons, 1) Chase, Shevlin and Vincent opting out is hard to overcome, that is 3 guys who were in the top 90-100 prospects on every pre season NFL draft board, Chase a 1, Shevlin a 1-2 and Vincent 2-3. 2) Transfers of some players that could be on this roster that were legit 4 star players, Kelvin Joseph at UK, Brooks who transferred to TCU, 4 and 5 star players, Donte Starks from Eheret high 4 star player, all those guys should be on this roster. Kardell Thomas looks like a bust, Ray Parker from the 2019 class gone (another 4 star miss), Anthony Bradford another 4 star miss.

If Kelvin Joseph were still on this team, he would be our 2nd best CB in my view and definitely top 3 with Stingley and Ricks.

I think LSU right now is well below the 85 scholarship limit. So I am beginning to think this has nothing to do with coaching, we have a talent issue at to many key positions. Now not due to recruiting and talent evaluation, to much attrition and you combine that with several misses and here we are.

i honestly couldnt agree more, its a combo of the two... change of scheme and limited talent...

losing chase sucks, but he was the one player that we could lose because of the depth/talent at WR... Losing Shelvin hurt bad because he was quickly becoming a top round player, and was impossible to block 1 on 1... and K Vincent would have played %60-70 of the downs on Defense... and was a huge loss... as many are now seeing...

Im glad we are having a "get through" year during this shortened season with so much else going on, it will pay dividends next season with so many getting their reps now for a season where the national title wont be looked upon as really "legitimate"

Im glad Brennan is doing well, and i kinda figured he would. I think we missed the weight room alot this year and losing the spring really hurt. were going to need to add quality depth to our roster this year and next..

im concerned about our DB's and LB's on Defense and OL on offense. just waaaay too thin...

Look. Pelini is a clown, however both offensive and defensive lines are not good. "Nuff said.

I'm pissed because I'm an old supporter and I don't think he did much of a DC search. tunnel visioned in on plenty and that was it.

Now I'm pissed because I think Pelini is trying to fit players into his defense instead of fitting his defense into what players do best.

If this weekend is a s*** show and LSU gets rolled for another 600 yards if Pelini is not fired Orgeron has lost my support
