I do think a bit better job could be done lately on the idiots who think they have to share their brilliance and start a new thread on whatever thought pops in their mind (I use the word loosely) instead of using an existing one.
The admins need to start whacking most of the "Saban is great/Miles sucks threads." How many threads are on this board comparing Lord Saban's SEC record over the last two years to Les Miles'? It's starting to get really tiresome. Les Miles is the coach of the LSU football team, and will be hear for a while; he's not going anywhere.

0 effect. Fans react to the product on the field. There were positigers who defended Curley Hallman to the very end.

I stayed on the Curley bandwagon until the debacle at Auburn in '94.

No, not really, but what do you propose we do? Fire Miles and try to steal Saban away from Alabama? Bama has no where to go but down. It's going to happen sooner or later. What are you Saban suckers going to say when it happens?

Not as long as Sabans there. Look Miles is a decent coach, But his mistakes get MAGNIFIED to a huge level, WHY??? I don't know.

I actually know the answer to this question, but I would get bashed to hell on this board if I posted what I know.

College Coaching Records:
Saban: 123-50-1 = 71.1%
Miles: 79-35 = 75.96%
Saban: 123-50-1 = 71.1%
Miles: 79-35 = 75.96%

We'll see. He's elevated that program so high so fast that he will be expected to maintain this level of success. If he puts together a couple of two or three loss seasons, the Gumps, the third most delusional fanbase in the SEC (behind LSU and Ole Miss), will run him off.

This is all that the rant talks about

It seems that way, doesn't it. There was a thread earlier about Louisiana Tech, and somebody found a way to bring Alabama's SEC record into the discussion.

The only way to deter those posts from taking over the board is:
1) Don't reply to them - it only keeps them at the top of the board; and
2) Post about some substantive, non bashing issues.
Of course at this time of the year most of the substantive issues tend to deal with recruiting an coaching changes and those now have their own boards (which i think on balance is a good thing). And there is the SEC Board, the More Sports Board, etc. etc.
Once practice starts tomorrow for the bowl game there may be some traffic about tht - what players are healthy, who might play, etc.

negative fans certainly impact a program, if only to a minor degree. It adds to the noise level that causes distractions that must be managed...which takes away time from folks actually doing their job. In addition, unrealistic expectations can impact the ability to lure a top coach. You can point to Bama...if it weren't for the perfect storm of Saban being a miserable failure in the NFL, they would've been working their way down the list again to mid-tier coaches to follow Shula.

THink any of the coaches care? Miles makes over 4 million/year and the other coaches make Hundreds of THousands.
We fans that pay for the tickets, concessions and all the consumers that pay the advertising dollars in increased costs are the FOOLS. Coaches must be laughing all the way to the bank just like the CEOS of financial, auto and insurance companies. Some of these guys are so incompetent they should be unemployed. We are the suckers not them.

Dominate? We were barely able to get by LaTech. Total joke.
What happens next year when we play above average like NC and WVA?

National Embarrasment, but no effect on the coaches and players.
