You can't be this bad at LSU this year without looking directly at coaching.

Sure you can

So you think it's not coaching is the problem here? It might not be the entire problem but it's definitely part of the problem.

I don't know who's going to get showed the door but nobody on this staff is safe except Jay. I wouldn't be shocked at all if Jay told Yeskie to hit the road. Only they know what's really going on inside over there. Yeskie is definitely not above criticism because he's had similar problems every year at LSU the issue this year is nothing came together like it did the previous 2 at the end. Maybe injuries heavily contributed to that but they weren't good then either so that's an excuse.

How much of the missed evals on the portal guys we landed early, and then not landing other portal guys forcing us to settle on a couple draft leftovers with poor attitudes, can be attributed to a coach having one foot out the door and suddenly deciding not to take a job?

Or maybe, and I'm just spitballing here, I wasn't really trying to assign blame and felt a little like rattling your chain.

I probably owe you an apology for that.

I don't know if anyone has the answer to that. We can look at players on the roster from last year and there's no debating Yeskie's pitchers have wholly regressed top to bottom except maybe 1-2 guys.

Now I do think it's more complicated here because LSU lost Moore early which killed the lineup. Injuries have hurt. How do you explain players last year on the roster not showing development?

Missed evaluations? I don't think so. It has to be coaching. These are the same guys LSU was calling up to be reliable and they answered. I think it's probably somewhere in the middle. A combination of both coaching and attitude. Usually when you win it all a target is on your back and player's maybe got a big head attitude wise. LSU is this year's TAMU from last year. Success and didn't follow up with it well.

My bad, I flipped from pitching to position players with that question.
