cook just needs to work on his footwork and slim down just a bit.. wade messing up with this one badly.. he should be our starting point guard next year

Jalen Cook on a 15-17 team easily matches Pinson’s production as a freshman

Is Pinson a one year guy?
I’d likely take Cook because you’d have him for 2, likely 3, more years. Most teams making deep runs in the NCAAT have upper class men that help lead them. Cook could be one of those guys for us, unlike the couple in the last two years that leave early and go undrafted.

Cook transferred because he was 2nd string with Gaines ahead of him and now 3rd string PG with the addition of Pinson. He knew he would not see the court

You’re in win now mode. LSU is better next year with Pinson than Cook. It’s not rocket science, man. Not to mention Pinson hasn’t played with Wade. He’s considered an elite scorer, just because Martin underutilized him doesn’t mean Wade will.
Wade transforms his team year to year especially with the portal. Jalen Cook is worshipped around here and I don’t understand why people can’t be realist about him. At best he was a 4 year role player and a solid contributor. He’s a 5’10ish PG who is going to go to a mid major and be a solid player. It’s best for all parties involved.

Exactly right. I will never understand some people in LSU’s fan base when it comes to basketball. They begged and begged for a consistent NCAA Tourney team. And so far, Wade has built the rosters to be just that. Like you said, Pinson helps to make them a more experienced, tourney ready team. (Obviously need a few more pieces)
ETA: people are also assuming that Pinson was added before Cook made his plans known. It’s possible Wade did this because he knew Cook was gone.

Having a multi million dollar salary means you are good at several skills that are critical to your profession and situation you inherit.
Im not a Wade fan, but hes making LSU relevant again. He has been a piece away 2 years in a row imo. He could be developing into a big time coach.
