He has to make 1 big decision every 3-4 years and this is the skill set?

Do you really even know what an AD does?

Other than hiring and firing head coaches and protecting the money flow from athletics, I do not. Please enlighten us.

I dont mean this as an opportunity to say fire this guy or hate on him.

Im really asking how does he survive this?

He would have been the hero by bringing in Jimbo.

Due to Fing King, we don't have that opportunity.

Because F. King Alexander is the one to blame for this whole situation, from what I've read.

I'm no Alleva fan, but the fact that Louisiana politics got involved in the LSU head coaching situation is not a good thing for the program, no matter how you try to spin it.

Well, I'm no Alexander fan, but I think he had to step in because Alleva had this thing so screwed up it looked like it was being run out of a clown car. His selective leaks backfired and created a groundswell of support for Miles that was unbelievable. He left Miles twisting in the wind for two weeks, having to answer questions at his weekly press conference and radio show, when Miles and everyone else thought he was fired. And apparently, he didn't have Jimbo locked up like everyone thought. Combine that with a sitting Board of Supervisor member, Ronald Anderson, going public and declaring that Miles might be fired even if he finished 10-2, and it was an absolute shite show.

Contrast that with the way Georgia handled the dismissal of their coach - no leaks, no loud-mouth board members - it was done in a professional and classy manner.

Dandy don had an interesting take on this as well. Just ran across it. Not sure u can post that here or even if I agree with it but it was not a good reflection on the leadership at LSU.

It kinda speaks for itself. He's not fired because he wasn't the one that screwed it up. If he was and was not fired that would be a pretty bizarre occurrence. But who knows these days?
