I dont mean this as an opportunity to say fire this guy or hate on him.

Im really asking how does he survive this?

He has to make 1 big decision every 3-4 years and this is the skill set?

Im a tad confused. Miles has to make hundreds of decisions each year and has to beat Alabama to keep his job. We are clear what Miles has to do to stay safe. But Im not sure how this AD would ever be terminated if he doesnt go now.
What has he done here to survive this incompetency?

Its one thing to botch a hire but to botch a termination?

Then during the press conference you announce that he's staying and not a smile, not a hug, not anything to lead anyone to think, that you really want to keep him? Could anyone seem more disingenuos? This is the kind of leadership that you want to portray at LSU?

Now youve put the coaches and the recruits in a very difficult situation and you are asking Les to perform another magic trick and not only save the recruiting class try and figure out your Asst coaching situation and change the offense?
Miles may or may not the coach for LSU moving forward but come on!

What coach thats any good at all would quit their job and come to LSu if O or Cam leave at this point?

We all know Miles is on a scorching hot seat at this point and one bad loss early next year and he may be done.I think we are all clear on his situation.

This entire fiasco could set the program back several years. Why not just terminate this guy?

I've said it more than once, I don't want Alleva anywhere near a football hire. The AD gets paid $500K and has one job, keep football at the top and who you hire as football coach defines that position, he hasn't had to make that hire yet.
Everything else pretty much runs itself and if you look at some of his hires in other sports they are trending down.

Because F. King Alexander is the one to blame for this whole situation, from what I've read.

I'm no Alleva fan, but the fact that Louisiana politics got involved in the LSU head coaching situation is not a good thing for the program, no matter how you try to spin it.

1. He's not solely responsible. I don't like the way it was handled but I somewhat understand.

2. He lined up something that was worth the risk and had the rug pulled out IMO.

edit: From what I've heard that article laying the blame at Alexanders feet is only somewhat true. Some blame goes to the other side of the deal....ultimately its on us.

To be fair, if Alleva had his way Miles would not have the opportunity for another magic trick.

The two basketball hires right now, but the softball hire is trending up though.

Well thats not what came out of his mouth. Is he a liar as well?
Regardless, why not just fire him and get another AD?

There is enough blame to go around. What you should be really concerned with is the fact that political figures got involved Jindal/Edwards.

You can't be this naive. Alleva doesn't have the power to make such a move without Alexander knowing about it early on. Alexander is every bit as guilty as Alleva.

The deal blew up in both of their faces and the media backlash forced them in a corner. Both should be fired for embarrassing LSU.

I understand people's anger with Alleva, but we do not want Alexander hiring a yes man. The guy is a thug.

He's not the reason Miles is still here. We should fire whoever said no to the deal and then fire Miles after that

by all "insider" accounts, the deal was done and alleva got jimbo. alexander is the one who killed it.
