People have said that we let Denbrock go and that was some massive mistake.

I think a lot of people have this incredible view of Denbrock's offense that doesn't match reality. Our passing game consisted of the NFL rookie of the year throwing deep balls to 2 pro bowl WR who would win their one on one match ups. Then his dump off man was an NFL TE. He did this with 2 NFL tackles and an NFL RB.

The QB designed run game was atrocious. The bulk of Daniels' rushing numbers came on broken plays/scrambles.

I distinctively remember Denbrock telling the media that throwing over the middle was stupid and most passing yards in the college game come from the outside. This was following the 2019 team that lived over the middle, and tore up college zone defenses. It was horrifying to hear an OC say that.

I mean we lost the Ole Miss game in '23 when we rolled Daniels right on that last 3rd down. Taking away half the field, with the weapons we had, on a game defining play, was retarded.

I personally do not think our offense would be better off with Denbrock running the ship. I think the players, for whatever reason, are simply not executing.

I'm sure I'll be proven wrong, but seeing him talk about offense never really impressed me.

They did all they could to keep Bryce Underwood happy and he chose Michigan anyways.

How many have we gotten?
Money changes things. Just the reality now. We had Underwood in the bag with a smaller offer than Michigan. Then, they decided to pay 4x what we were paying, and that was that.

When Hurley committed, he was a top 2/3 QB in the '25 class. Yeah, Nick Saban beat him out for Julian Sayin. When Saban left, his first call was to Sloan.

I'm telling you that Sloan is up there with Corey and Frank in terms of relationship building from a recruiting prospective.

He seems to be a really great QB coach. I agree.

Same reason he told Raymond and Blake Baker to take a hike then begged them to come back retaining the worst coach on O's staff in Davis who's handicapping the team now. Then he proceeded to have one of the worst defensive staffs LSU had the past few decades.

The man has almost no foresight into assistant hires. I'm actually surprised he did so well at ND here.

Modern day high level football is a chess match between coordinators. Sloan is terrible at chess.
