Very nice post Zem. I hope the Tiger fans all behave appropriately while up there, myself included. And, no offense, but I'm hoping we use this as an opportunity to hone our play and kick your a**. Just sayin'.

Welcome to the board! It seems the kids are in bed early or are out getting trashed. Watch out for them later when they find a friendly foe on board. It can get pretty nasty. Thank goodness people can realize that this is not the way most LSU fans behave. Welcome to the board and good luck on your season. Washington used to be a power in football. How did it fall so far so fast?

The fall of the dawgs is a long story, but easy to summarize,
-1990:The pro football AD retires
-1991: A pro Title IX spread out the money to all other programs AD(Barbara Hedges) is hired
1992: The only undefeated starting quarterback in UW history, Billy Joe Hobert, was investigated to take money from a booster.
1993: The PAC 10 takes the opportunity to attack the UW program(something about getting your asses kicked for the last decade made them jealous).
Fall of 1993: Barbara Hedges, when confronted with sanctions across the athletic department, pleads with the Pac-10 to not hurt the other programs. The Pac-10 cuts a ton of football scholarships and imposes a two year bowl ban.
Soon after, the best coach in college football at that time, Don James, quits out of protest.

Due to the sanctions, the Huskies remain competitive in the Pac 10, but due to the scholarship sanctions and the cut back of football funding for new facilities, only win one more Pac 10 title in the 90's.

1999: Jim Lambright is fired by Barbara Hedges. Rick Neuheisel, who Hedges had said before, was "Cute", is hired.
2000: Using Lambrights players, Neuheisel wins the Rose Bowl in spite of a senior class mutiny due to his unfair treatment of players.
2001:Neuheisel no longer recruits California, aims to recruit nationally. It doesn't work.
The team begins a progressive downward slide until he is fired.

Its gotten progressively worse from there.

To the most physical team in the country(Pummelling Nebraska in 91 and 92) to 0-12, in 18 short years.

Those sanctions seem very draconian to me Zem, you may not get this reference to our former basketball coach, but many of the regulars will...

Anyways, tell us in very certain terms how Huskie fans feel about USC. I'll hang up and listen.

And welcome aboard

The sanctions were just that. Brutal and heavy handed. What is especially shocking about the whole thing, was that the Pac-10 imposed these sanctions on one of their own, after three straight rose bowls, a national title, an orange bowl victory and drawing a lot of money for the conference, they went out and attacked them.

As for USC, most Husky fans dislike them, not so much as the northwest schools, but there is a strong dislike. I root for Pac-10 teams most of the time, I like the way they play football. They are like FSU of the 90's though, always prone to that one hiccup that screws them over.

I'm interested to see how those investigations play out, something tells me, due to the range and name of the program, the penalties won't be that bad, fi there are penalties at all. USC runs wild, but I don't see them getting the kind of penalty they most likely deserve, I'm not sure the Pac-10 thinks they can survive without them.

It has been pretty well known that the SEC has its favorite sons that it tries to protect...Alabama in football, Kentucky in men's basketball, and Tennessee in women's basketball. Though this argument falls apart somewhat because Alabama football and Kentucky basketball have both been on probation, the league still protects them as much as they can.

Funny how it appears that our fans hate USC more than yours do!
