Too many games have been close due to being ultra conservative in the 4th.
See: Miss State '14.
To win, we HAVE to light the scoreboard up and keep the same offensive punishment.
I have no idea why you cited a game where LSU was losing 34-10 at the start of the 4th quarter, and then scored 19 unanswered in the 4th to make it close but still lost, as an example of a close game where LSU was ultra conservative in the 4th quarter . I'm trying to think of a game that is a worse example of your initial premise and I literally can't think of a single one. I'm guessing you meant a different game, maybe State in 2015?
Regardless, as far as I can tell the difference between LSU's aggressive offense and LSU's conservative offense is that the former results in more first downs and touchdowns. And I don't mean that the different strategy results in more first downs and touchdowns, I mean that retroactively if a drive is successful then it is labeled as aggressive and if it resulted in a punt fans consider it "conservative".
