First off I never said head and shoulders better than everyone else. I just said the #1 program right now.
Arkansas' RB & QB were both hurt in '05. I still give credit for the impressive beating. That was an asswhipping where u had to keep the women and children from seeing!! Auburn was not that good in '03 if u remember. Play these teams week in, week out then call me in the morning. I don't beleive the "we beat them by more than what you beat them" routine either. It's all about matchups IMO. See: UM over Gaytors.
SEC does stack up the home games. Youre right about that. LSU plays @FL, Auburn, COCKS this year. @FL, Auburn, Arkansas, TN in '06! When's the last time USC played FOUR top 10 teams all on the road in one season like LSU did 2 years ago??? All conference games too. hhhmmm.
How many ranked teams did USC beat last year?? ONE. How many did LSU beat?? 6 or 7?
Washington, Washington St, Oregon St, Stanford, Arizona on the road? Please
Go between the hedges, on the Plains, in the Swamp, Death Valley, Bryant-Denny week in, week out, every year. Play in front of hostile crowds full of drunk & cocky frat boys with heavily startched shirts & ties, in the humidity, under the lights, grits, corn rows, gold teeth...the SEC has all of that. Corvalis,Oregon? Palo Alto,Ca? Tucson,AZ? no.
I was in Tucson for LSU/AZ in '03 and the Wildcat fans couldn't leave fast enough. I was at LSU/ASU in '05...the student section was nice, cheerleaders fine as hell, but otherwise weak.

I find it extremely hard to believe USC has had a MUCH better SOS than some SEC teams, especially Florida. They always have a tough schedule because they play Florida St and Miami every year.

I am not real big on the comparative scoring thing either but it does say something when we beat Arkansas by more cumulative points than all of the rest of their losses combined.
As for # of ranked teams we beat last year that would be 3. Though it is harder to be a ranked team or become bowl eligible in the PAC-10 than any other conference due to everyone playing 9 conference games. (I think Cal would have been a ranked team in pretty much any other conference, and I think Washington and Stanford would have been bowl eligible in most other conferneces). Conversely we do get a boost in SOS because of it.

Hurricane Katrina: Home opener moved by over 1200 miles at the last minute. Guys staying up late to help out @ the Pmac all week. Guys like Skyler stacking up about a dozen relatives in his apartment while sleeping on the floor. Having practice cut short so athletic facilities can be used for emergency relief effort. Guys going through practice & prep for ASU game while still wondering if their relatives WERE DEAD! Give 'em a break. They won the game. They didn't loose to a 41pt dog. ASU was pretty good that year and had u guys down at half time before USC flexed their muscles.

Think I said I was impressed with that.

Oh, sorry. Excuse me.

Now that's hilarious. The wheels fell off on that team after the OR State loss. That was a classic melt down. 6 straight losses to end the season I think? Whatta meltdown. Yeah bowl eligable...IN THE SUNBELT??

Stanford would have been bowl eligible in most other conferneces
Stanford L @ Miss State
Stanford L v VT
Stanford W v Midd Tn State
Stanford L v COCKS
Stanford W @ Tulane
Stanford L v Florida
Stanford L @ Kentucky
Stanford L v Auburn
Stanford L @ Alabama
Stanford W v La Tech
Stanford L v Ole Miss
Stanford L v Arkansas
Stanford L v Tennessee
Stanford L v Ohio State
3-11 with LSU's 2007 schedule. You're right. Bowl eligable.
Florida plays Florida State every year.
COCKS play Clemson every year.
UGA plays GA Tech every year. Worked Oklahoma State last year. Play ASU this year. (ASU will get worked).
Bama played FSU last year, Clemson this year.
Tennesse worked Cal 2 years ago, lost to Cal last year, play UCLA this year.
Auburn worked Wash State 2 years ago, Kansas State last year, play WVU this year.
LSU worked VT last year, worked AZ 2 years ago.

So we don't get a boost by our OOC schedules?? Like Notre Dame every year?? And again, who cares if u play a round robin in a shitty
conference?
Here's another one for ya: 161-55. That's the combined score SEC has won by in the last four BCS Bowl games. Including 2 National Championships!
Yeah, Stanford and Cal would really go bowling outta the SEC.
Just admit USC piles up wins in a weak assed conference.

I did the calculation myself, using the Sagarin Archives. Just took the mean of USC's SOS the past 6 years...
and apparently for every SEC team as well.
And you guys say we're the one's who are obsessed.
BTW, Sagarin's methodology is secret and produces results that would be at times laughable were it not tied to the BCS where big $ are riding on his results.
But here's a simple formula we can all agree upon:
2 > 1.

One, the Sagarin rankings are a joke...
Two...That "round robin" crap that USC and the media like to spew forth is just that, its crap...
all it means is that USC gets to pad their stats on the bottom feeders every year, well almost every year (Standford), and USC doesn't have to face a conference championship game with the possibility of having to face and beat a ranked team twice in one season as LSU had to do in '03 for example when LSU had to face top 10 ranked UGA twice in the same season to win the conference title...
And another thing, the winner and runner-up in the SEC play just as many conference games as the PAC does and its a little difficult to schedule 11 conference games in a season when there are 12 teams in the SEC...again, enough with the "round robin" crap...

You sound disturbed.
1. Explain reasonably in what way Sagarin's ratings are a joke as you say.
2. I am mearly pointing out a fact that with every team in the PAC-10 playing 9 conference games as opposed to 8, then the overall records of the conference will suffer therfore leading to less "ranked" teams. Simple math, well simple for most of us at least.
