re: Head a rumor the students will rush the field

Look guys, I wouldn't mind it either way really.

Some of you guys sound like USC, like our shite don't stink or we're too good for that. Look, we are not the best team in the nation this year. That's a fact. If we did beat the number 1 team in the nation, who is better than us right now, I could see why people would want to rush the field. It's all about showing emotion and celebrating with your team and giving them some love. Now if we blow them out, then no, that's dumb. But in a close game, then yeah, I wouldn't have a problem with it

It looks like many of our fans still have the DiNardo/Hallman mentality. Which is why, inevitably, our program will eventually return there.

Has anyone seen the field rushed at Texas in recent years? Florida? Southern Cal? They are top tier programs and don't see it as a cause for the celebration of a lifetime when they beat a number 1 team. Number 1 teams fall several times every year. Even Alabama, who has sucked in recent years, has too much pride to do that. Because they expect to be a top tier program. I guess many of our fans still have the inferiority complex with Bama, even after all these years.

We are too good for that. Anyone who was at the Georgia game in 2003 remembers how proud we all were that our program had finally arrived at the point where beating top teams at home did not merit rushing the field.

If any student attempts to do this, I hope they are arrested for trespassing and expelled from the university. And coach Miles should get on a microphone and tell the students that the game won't continue until everyone is off the sidelines.
