Let's not play their game.
We owe Nick a lot of thanks for stopping our bleeding, stabilizing our program, building it into a national champ, and giving all LSU fans a source of pride.
Nick left for the bright lites of pro ball and I wished him well. Les came in and lead us to bowl wins, SEC title, national title, and did what Nick couldn't or wouldn't...say "no" to a high profile program.
Together, they gave us 2 national titles and 6 yrs of more SEC wins than anyone else. I thank them both, but Nick left when given the chance and, to this point, Les hasn't. That makes it pretty simple for me...Les is my man and he will remain so till he leaves or falls on his face.

Saban was a God when he was at LSU. He could of run for governor and won.

Your comparison of records with no consideration of context is meaningless drivel.
Your inability to read makes your post drivel.
I made one single mention of comparison to Miles. I then pointed out in all the rest of my posts that I was NOT making a comparison but pointing out that Saint Saban lost 16 games and there is no reason for the insane expectations you rantards have.
By the way the title of the post was "He lost 16 games." That has nothing to do with Miles or comparison.
Just pointed out a few Saban facts.

While this isn't (wasn't originally) a negative Miles thread, why are we seeing so many yesterday and today?
We did win the game, didn't we? Thought so.
So it wasn't an impressive blowout win...I'll take an 8 point win any day of the week.

As I am too. I just don't see where the insane expectations of blowouts every game came from. Which was the point of the post. Saban did not win every game. He lost some games to big time underdogs.

Saban gave us something we had been without for bout 45 yrs...a national title in fooball. Les gave us something we had just had a few yrs before.
Not hard to see where the "God" stuff came from, huh.

So TigerMyth36, you think that the talent Nick Saban had at LSU through his tenure was either equal to or greater than the talent that Les Miles has had so far at LSU?
Let's consider Nick Saban's top 3 recruiting classes:
2001 - Best class in modern day LSU football. This class was the foundation for LSU becoming a relevant power again, because Saban convinced the top instate guys to stay and play for LSU (Clayton, Spears, Hill, etc.). This class won a national title.
He was able to coach that talent. When it matured, LSU won a national championship and finished 9-3 the following year with Marcus Randall at QB (one loss to 14-0 AU on the road by 1 point, and one on the last play of the game).
Once LSU became successful, it was easier to draw talent to LSU. His 2003 and 2004 classes were ranked #2 and #1, respectively. Now, who got to coach those classes for the majority of those players' careers? Les Miles.
Saban led LSU to an 8-4 record in 2000 after a mostly bad decade. He won an SEC title in his second year and a national title in his fourth year. He piled up the recruits, but opted for the NFL. Now let me ask you, do you think that Nick Saban and Les Miles had equally talent-laden rosters during their coaching tenures here?
The answer is "frick no."

Might want to learn to read before wasting all that time typing.
I don't know how many times I need to say it. This IS NOT A COMPARISON. I've only said that like 10 times, but I guess that is not enough so I will say it again.
This is NOT a comparison. One sentence in my first post mentioned that Miles had fewer losses.
This post simply was to show Saban lost 16 games. Gee, that is ONLY THE FREAKING TITLE.- That is all. Nothing more nothing less. He lost 16 games.
He bounced DOWN after a 10 win season losing 5 games the next season.
He only had 1 season with fewer than 3 losses.
The point was not to compare him to Miles but to show all the idiots out there that the supposed Glory Years of Saint Saban included one season with fewer than 3 losses. A bounce down with 5 losses following a 10 win season and 3 losses in his final season.
This is not an indictment of Saban. I loved Saban when he was at LSU. I had no problem with him going to the NFL. I of course have a problem with him going to our nemesis.
This simply points out that the insane expectations most rantards seem to have today, were never met at any time in LSU history including during the Saban years.
But go ahead. Continue to miss the point of my thread and continue to attack my 1 sentence mention of Miles.

As I said, this is not an indictment on Saban. The man turned a miserable situation around for the Tigers, but he did not walk on water. He lost 16 games. He lost 3 games in his final season. He lost 5 games after a 10 win season.
Great coach? Yes. God? No.
And the main point was simply that the insane expectations some people have on here, were never met in the history of LSU.
