Hawk got balled on way more than PP did

and a glaring difference is PP was 18 and straight out of high school...with that in mind I thought he showed tremendous ability and potential..so there is a ton of upside there

Hawk was in his 4th year at LSU last year and was penciled in as the starter basically since the spring of 2008 after Zenon and Chevis left... considering his experience he was very disappointing... I actually think he played to close to his full potential and just got burned by some WRs more talented than him

Jai did look clueless at times last year but he has far more upside than Hawk...just a lot better athlete

yeah, the assumption that Hawkins did not get burned that much is preposterous, like I said if not for that one game where he had 2 pics his season would have been a disaster like the rest of the defense. he was so shell shocked he lined up 10 yards off a receiver and still got beat.

somehow I knew you'd show up, if Chavis deems it neccessary then he will, one thing is for sure, he won't give a QB all the time in the world in tha pocket to find a receiver like your boy Pelini, and sending Brooks on a blitz would probably pay dividends, since the guy flies at people and knocks them tha frick out.

and he got pic opportunities because opposing Offensive Coordinators targeted him/threw to his side more

I don't think that there was any question - particularly towards the end of the season - that opposing OCs were targeting Hawk and getting into situations where they could isolate him in one-on-one

..they knew they had the advantage with their WR over him
