Hawkins should be running 4.4, he's only 187 lbs.

How big do you think most corners are coming out of college?

Not a bad time for a safety. Jenkins ran that time as a CB last year.

I agree that it is not a terrible time for a safety, but the 9 reps on the bench is very disappointing.

Remember when Chad Jones ran down Darren McFadden? How did he do that?

Darren McFadden?

Either

A) McFadden slowed up
or
B) McFadden was tired from running up and down the field.

Those expecting much more from Chad Jones are nuts, he has never looked especially fast.

Hawkins was the starting corner and played 75% of the time. He did get burned, but what corner doesn't. The TD he gave up against Florida was aided with a pass interference. ESPN highlighted Cooper's grab of the jersey and pulling Hawkins out of position.

Peterson, had 9 more tackles than Hawk did for the year, starting two more games.

How much did pitching for the baseball team affect his weight lifting? I know that he had plenty of time to prepare for the combine. But do pitchers lift weights as part of their conditioning. I know most basketball players don't lift to much because it affects their shooting.

C Hawk complimented PP's lockdown skills with his toughness & smartness. You can't honestly say that you could breath easy with Joke Eugene in the game. He couldn't cover a Jr. High LG and couldn't stay on his feet even if they were glued to the turf. Chris wasn't burned against Arky, he had low 3rds and was suppose to have help over the top. & against Florida Cooper pulled his jersey. Say what you want about him but he had a solid career at LSU and I wish him & all the other tigers the best of luck

Hawkins had a horrible stretch to end his junior season. His speed was never in question, but he looked totally lost in the Malveto defense (along with everyone else), and he rarely played the ball correctly when it was thrown his way.

Do you expect anyone to get comfortable having 3 different Defensive Coordinator? Chris had the one blown coverage against Arky in '08, and never really had a great shot to do anything last year. He played only the second half in the last 5 games. I'm not here to argue about his pro potential, I'm just stating that for all of the adversity that's happened, he's had a pretty solid career. Not a stellar, but a solid one. I just can't imagine who in their right mind would trust Jai in there. He belongs on offense.
