No, you tried to make a case for why people should be positigers, by referencing the 90s.

I countered that by saying the 90s are why a lot of fans are not positigers.

I've called people that are happy with mediocrity teppertigers. It never caught on.

I was a fan of Miles at first, but have lost confidence in him the past 2 seasons (it was shaky based on some calls earlier in his tenure, but winning cures all).

I've adjusted my opinion based on the facts on the ground. I don't know what that makes me.

Saban called it Catastrophe Syndrome. It is a fear of returning to the 90s.

When Saban used the term "Catastrophe Syndrome", he was referring to that sector of the fanbase that freak out and claim the sky is falling when, in reality, it is not.

whatever. I'm simply not going to spend my life being miserable over things I can't control. It's counter-productive and a huge waste of emotional energy.

I guess I'm a BIG F'N POSITIGER and apparently I'm proud of it.

Exactly what was so bad about the 80's?
LSU went to 6 bowl games had 7 winning seasons. The 0-6 conference play in 83 did sting a bit though.

I haven't seen people dancing in the streets over 8-5. I have seen people say at least we aren't 4-7 and try to keep reminding fans as to how bad the 90's were as if that makes current mediocrity acceptable.
Maybe fans that accept mediocrity are teppertigers.

Always been positive about the team. I still am. I always act like we're the best team in the nation even though realistically I know we are not. I just love the Tigers.

i'll put it this way...
sometimes i want to choke miles and crowton with my own two hands (ie running the option to the short side of the field over and over and over again). sometimes i want to pull my ears off when i hear Les talk (i hate the way he says Arkansas, like he is smarter than 99% of the rest of the country).

but i am a tiger fan, i look forward to these 11 or 12 Saturdays in the fall all year. i go crazy when we get a big win such as the arizona state game and have even cried over bad losses (i cried on the Monday night tenn game that we were up by 21 at half, but i had also lost my job that day, and i cried and ripped my shirt into half when we lost @ auburn with russell and bowe only scoring 3 points all game. that non pass interference call still haunts me.

i am not an unrealistic tiger fan, i know we cant win them all. but i give alot of money to the TAF fund and forever LSU. i want a coach who i honest to God don't think that i am smarter than when it comes to a football game. (NCAA football makes everyone think we could do better.) truth is i miss nick. i think we all do, if we admit it or not. he was the coach while i was @ LSU (started in the fall of 99), i guess i will always be a fan of nicks. he turned this program around, and is the reason we are where we are today.

maybe i dont know if i am a negatiger or positiger. Love is blind

It is not that you are satified with 7-5 8-4 or even 9-3, it is the hope that the next season will bring better results. There is nothing you and I as fans can do to change what happens with our Coach other than not go to the games.

Back in the old days that was not a choice that was a privilage to go to the games. You looked foraward to the weekend and a Saturday Night in Tiger Stadium. Not today, if we loose 1 game you have people on here that would say why can't we go undefeated if we don't we had better get another Coach and want go to the games until we do. How stupid and morbid is that?

There is nothing we can do to directly effect what happens and that is why I choose to have the faith in my Tigers that they are going to win and I am going to enjoy it all while I can Win or loose. Of course I had rather a win but, sometimes it happens and so I just choose to waite until next week we will get them then. I am disappointed in the lose but I don't think the sky is falling in when we do loose I just hope they correct the reason for us loosing and do what it takes to win the next game.

Oh yea, when Saban said what he said about the sky not falling in was when UM of Ohio came in here and beat us and he did what he did when UL-M 3 years ago at Bama he was on the defensive like all Coaches do when they loose. So get over it we will be OK this year and be in another bowl game and recruit another great class.

I Say!
