I’d argue that we thought the night of January 13th, 2020 would start an upward trend, but boy was that wrong.
so true- but in reality that year was so good and perfect ther was no where left to go from there, but instead of capitalizing 0 and the remaining staff just partied, and we fell hard off the cliff straight down. Imagine if we had a smart, hard working mature coach then we could have continued to be elite.

Just came off the worst defense in the history of the program.

This 100%. They lived off the glory, instead of using the glory to LSU's advantage for the future. Saban never did this, which is why he built a dynasty. He was satisfied, but never content.

2025 and on looks great right now with the recent news. however 2025 can change based on 2024, and 2024 does not look any better on the defensive end than it did in 2023 when looking at the players.

there is still time to stack some talent but there is plenty improving that is absolutely necessary

Ring me when they adopt an assassin-like, killer, reckless abandon style of play. Otherwise - gone fishin'. Off-season talk's cheap... Beware the Kennel Blindness (again).
