nah, they just aren't dominant up front and the cb's are young. They should be better next year especially in the secondary.

We are having a lot of "growing pains" this year. It will be better next year.

could be blamed on the state of the economy, and we don't have enough money to hire a DC? Just a thought.

What gives you confidence? We have a senior and junior at Safety and they have made as many mistakes as anyone on the defense. Another year of co-defensive coaching probably won't make much difference.

The defensive line definitely hasn't been as good as expected. Pittman has been almost invisible and with RJF banged up our interior has suffered some but they still are not the reason for the defensive struggles. QB's are getting rid of the ball pretty quick and there has been numerous break downs in the secondary this season. How many times did UGA have a receiver down field that was all alone? It was ridiculous. I never understood our nickel packages with bringing in extra safeties instead of CB's. Why do we have 4 safeties on the field instead of 4 CB's? Obviously a CB should have better coverage skills than a safety. All is not lost and I believe the defensive deficiencies can still be fixed but they need to do so against Tulane because we wont score much against Bama and will need an outstanding defensive game to win.
