Has any LSU coach ever been so disinterested?

It's been clear for some time that Mainieri doesn't really care. He doesn't recruit, he doesn't make coaching changes to be better, he doesn't make in-game changes to be better. Basically, he does nothing.
Why's he still here? Why doesn't he just quit?
Paychecks and every win this team gets in spite of him helps him with his "legacy," his all-time win total.
That's ALL Paul cares about at this point. Not his team, not this University.

His issue is he thinks he’s the victim of bad play by players. CPM is a piece of shlt but most fans don’t realize it yet.

First that comes to mind is Johnny Jones , the Ben Simmons season. He just seemed so out of touch. To be fair Tim Quarterman decided he was gonna do whatever the frick he wanted.

Yeah, it’s a little hard to be more disengaged than Smoke. At least Paul stays awake in the dugout.
