Not all the players are playing poorly on defense. Hawkins, PP are doing fine.

Everyone has a complex with Jai based on the UK game last year. I guarantee you he is nowhere near thetop of the Ds problems

2. coleman has the most on the team with 4.

cool so the qb must have thrown the ball right at him cause he make no attempt to play the ball.

You guys are missing the point I am making. I dont care how many tackles he makes this year. Consistently he is going for the big hit instead of wraping up and taking down the ball carrier. This is leading to big plays. He needs to be better at this.

no reason to throw players under the bus when the head coach that get paid says he loves the effort, its the system, the scheme, not the talent. that, and have facts to back up your claims.

sweatmeatbernstUSMC I understand that you may be an optimist, well I am too. However, if you go and watch the big runs that Moreno got, you will see harry coleman wiffing trying to make a big hit instead of wraping up. That is why I say put him on the bench to send a message. I dont care about the stats. Those huge missed tackles don't show up on the stats.

Also, If you don't see that jai is playing the reciever and not the ball your not watching the same #4 I am. I like jai. I just think he needs alot of work.

well throw sheps name out there for overrunning the play and putting a safety that predicament.

yea, hes a SAFETY, the last line of defense. this is much bigger than one person is my point. benching a player that has also made some of the biggest plays for the defense this year isnt going to make everyone else play within a system that for some reason the players havent bought into

I didn't think we would miss Chevis Jackson, Jonathan Zenon and Craig Steltz as much going into the season but now DAMN!

I disagree. Coming up with a big hit on special teams is what its all about. Celebrating is ABSOLUTELY neccesary to pump up the team.

It sends a message. Other players see that no one's starting position is safe if they don't give better efforts. Also I mentioned shep in my first post. I agree with you. He is out of position way to often.

when you man up, you have to play to receiver. if you take your eye off the receiver, you get burned, or a pass interference call. this is especially true if its man up with no safety help. which is what we seem to be doing much of

They ran alot of the same defense last year and chevis jackson looked like an all-american. All im saying is that he will never get ints playing the way he does, and he will give up alot of 5-10 yd plays.

the people that are saying he should be benched are prolly the same retards that started the thread about how he hits harder and how he's so much better than laron

And you're absolutely correct...the fact that this hasn't been corrected lies completely on the coaches.

Yeah, I kinda learned something from my own posts. I think I had been down on every player on the D, and half on offense before it hit me that there was a pattern here. The reason you play a few OOC first is to learn and adjust. Hell, it's game 8 and LSU hasn't learned, or adjusted. I decided to lay off players until I could rule out a lack of coaching and well...you get the idea. Not knocking this thread, everyone has a right, but just sharing my POV.

Was it not Curtis Taylor who missed the tackle on Moreno's 68 yd TD run?

I'm not ready to stomach breaking this game down yet, but I will this week sometime.

I noticed Taylor conspicuously absent for a series or two afterwards.
