I agree that we start
:rimshot:
Mr BH6...he has the most upside...I think if clm would actually put him into a comfortable offense from the 1st play, his game at au might have been better...but playing under center is not what he does...he needs to learn that, but let's get to a comfortable place first...when he was shining against nmsu, he was not under center...the offense was spread out in at lest 3 wr sets and that opened up running lanes for our 4 horsemen...

In the Aub game, Jennings was mostly composed in the pocket from what I recall. Certainly much more so than Harris.
You aren't seeing the picture clear. He looked composed because he had nothing to lose, same as Harris did against Miss St. Both were slinging it because at that moment, the pressure was off. Pretty much playing loose.
Watch Harris next week if he starts and gets a few early completions. You will see a completely different QB. People were talking pose for Harris all week before the game. People were doing the same the week before Miss St for Jennings, albeit not as much?
Right now you should play the future. That means Beckwith starting and playing nearly the whole game, Harris playing the whole game, Fournette starting and getting 70% of the RB carries.

Agreed...
Plus, the pay calling didnt really help Harris out either.
We have pass plays that are slow developing and dont have complex routes. When you have a QB in his 1st start @ a hostile environment vs a really really good team, like Harris was, you run some quick 3 step drops, get rid of the ball type pass plays. Quick slants, hitches, outs, etc to help get him in a rhythm, become comfortable out there, and gain some confidence.
We were calling those slow developing pass plays like the deep outs and deep comebacks we saw Mett and OBJ/Juice be so successful on last year. But thats mainly because we had a complete O last year and a QB with experience. We dont have that this year. And our routes arent complex. The DBs for Auburn were in good coverage most of the night and youre asking a true freshman QB making his 1st start on the road vs a really good Auburn team to sit back, waiting for the plays to develop, then throw a perfect pass in a tight window to a WR because of the coverage they had downfield.
Another thing... Why do we have so much trouble getting our skill position guys open with some space around them?
Sometimes its as simple as a RB on a bubble out of the backfield, WRs sitting in gaps between defenders, being in formations that naturally create space and doesnt allow DBs to play press on all our WRs (WR Stack, trips bunch, WRs playing tight to each other, etc) and running plays that naturally create space for 1 player (rubs, picks, crosses, etc). And it allows the QB to get the ball out quickly and help us get into SOME type of rhythm.
We dont have any of that, and if we do we dont see it. It almost seems like we are playing to the D strength and just think we can out muscle them or something. I mean when was the last time we had a guy open with a decent bit of space around him? Didnt say wide open because I cant remember the last time we had someone wide open unless a WR beat someone deep or the D blew an assignment.Instead, we have long developing pass plays that arent that complex and force our young QBs to throw hard passes perfectly in coverage. And we cant do that right now.
And it doesnt help that we REFUSE to check out of the run when the D has 8 in the box about 80% of the time. Nope, we cant do that. We must run the ball up the middle and hope something good happens. And the 1 RB that was running well early on barely freaking played. But thats a diff rant.
Just dont understand how we rarely have guys open in space. Even if its just for a few yards, cant even get that. Hell, some form of west coast offense would help. Just have guys running quick slants and outs and simple things like that. But dont have it. And dont get it.

I would say because the corners on opposing teams are staying fresh longer because they are no t having to run too much early in the game.'
17 of the first 20 plays vs auburn were running plays.
Thats not balance

You should write them a letter and let them know that you don't support them anymore. They may change their philosophy.
Btw, were you upset that Miles took out Harris the other night? I was pretty mad about it because Harris needs the experience......lol

Harris clearly hurt is ankle in the game. I don't think he gets pulled otherwise
He would have probably split time with Jennings, but he was only pulled because of ankle.

I don't believe the ankle was the reason, here is why. Harris supposedly injured the ankle in the first half. Why would you go through halftime for it to stiffen up then let him play in the 3rd only to pull him.
Harris practiced today i think
Regardless, i can only hope he practices with first team this weak and starts.

I wish I knew how many balls went to the TE or RB in the flat during the last 5 seasons.

Hell, we were down by 17+ early on in the game and we still ran the ball 36times and passed just 24times. While playing behind multiple possessions early on, Auburn stacking the box with 8 guys 80% of the time and not having a safety playing over the top.... MUST RUN. ALL THE TIME.
