Fact of the matter is, this is big boy football that we play in. At some point your QB is going to have to make plays for you. You can't hide him. He will be asked to make plays.

The issue is finishing drives...if you get a short field and don't convert in the redzone...you get 5 field goals.
Why would you call an aggressive as hell game when you can put it in cruise and win by 20+? Drives died but who cares, theres no reason to start chucking the ball all around when you obviously have the better match up in the trenches.

Time for another caller to ask about the QB situation.

Dude, with all due respect, you can't be seriously making an argument for not converting in the red zone. Please clarify this.

Ummm you kinda are proving my point. He took Bama down the field for like a 90 yard touchdown drive to beat Auburn.
McElroy played his best game when Bama needed him the most last year. Auburn held Alabama to under 75 yards rushing on the day. McElroy went 21-31 for 220 yards and two tds.

I posted earlier that I was going to be all positive tonight, but I must say that the things said in this thread have been in my mind.
The only thing is I have accepted our fate that we are wasting Terrence Tolliver and Reuben Randle, and there's nothing I can do about it. I was miserable during the first two games, so I don't want to be miserable anymore. I tried to keep positive at the game tonight, and it worked. Tonight's game plan worked for tonight, and maybe they'll open up a little bit more when they need to.

I'm making the argument that it was conservative as hell play calling, because there was no reason to open it up. We ran a lot of times where had it been a close game we would have thrown. I'm not saying JJ is somehow god and Lee is crap, I'm saying they both suck, and bitching about it is really starting to get annoying. Not converting in the red zone isn't ideal, but its not exactly putting us in oh shite mode right now. This team can beat any other team in the SEC outside of Bama. Did you really think this was a BCS Championship team?

I've hit this stage. Our defense will keep us in most games, our running game should be good, and hopefully JJ can make a couple throws to punish teams for loading up the box.

He is so right about Clemson. Another classic choke job.

You, sir, are an it-getter. The coaches didn't take any more chances tonight than they had to. And all that ultraconservatism added up to a 20+ point win. Works for me.

Sounds like somebody talked to these two about their criticism of JJ after last week. Totally different tune. Must have threatened their Media Access.
Looks like pretty much what you insiuated

I can live with this. I've come to the realization that Rohan Davey & JaMarcus have moved on.
