What would you rather....
11-2, beat Alabama, but miss the playoffs because LSU lost the SECG
Or
11-1, lose to Alabama, but make the playoffs somehow, along with Alabama

At that point, does it really matter? You haven't won't the national championship or the conference championship.

Well, hell, let's debate Saban coaching LSU but can only play the walk-ons while O coaches Alabama with any Alabama player no more than three years removed from the program available to play...who wins?

People put too much emphasis on beating Bama. I've seen plenty of people say they would be happier with a bad record and a win over Bama vs a good record and loss to Bama. Makes no since.

Well, right after the loss Sat, most probably would say that. But, given just a few days and cooler heads, I think the vast majority of us would want to be in the playoffs...especially if it meant there was a chance of beating those fricking Gumps in a playoff or championship game.
