These scores are ridiculously tight

Better be that way for other teams

Campbell looked a veteran senior today

Not worried about Desiderio, stuff like this happens to the best of the best

Nichols came off the beam last season in semi's

She will rebound

9.9 for Finnegan!

LSU 49.225 Into the lead on an event that is probably the hardest to score big on in the first rotation.

To be honest, I like that this will give them something to improve on for Super 6 (assuming no meltdowns the rest of the meet, of course), Last year there was almost no where for them to improve and they had all this pressure to pull off a once in a lifetime performance again the very next night, it was too much.

Now LSU can breathe a bit

Beam usually is the rotation that destroys a team, just need to do our stuff 3 more rotations and we will be fine

Tigerbait, what are we missing here? I've watched the Super 6 past few years and do not recall judges ever being this ridiculous with scores. Was something sent out to make a concerted effort to score differently this year? LSU had routines that regularly scored 9.9 or better during the regular and post season during that rotation and ended up with one 9.9.

ETA: If all are scored this way, I'm fine with it. But just seems unusually way more strict.

Usually the earlier sessions for semi finals historically are pretty tight with scores.

I am fine if all teams are treated the same

I know this is for 357, but being in the Afternoon Session rather than the Evening session causes this, in my opinion. Judges are tight and seem to refuse to give earned scores considering the night session. We benefited from it last year, so its tough.

Pretty crazy that we still have a lead with a start on beam and the scores handed out

Shows you how strict the entire meet is so far.

At least it seems fair to all teams, and that is all you can ask

Let me know if yall agree with me

This rotation is the perfect example of a major issue with NCAA judges. Placement in the lineup dictates a lot of the scores and it shouldn't.

Erin's routine was way better than Edney's and Myia's routine but still barely mustered a 9.8125. They need to score the routine not by placement in the lineup

No need to worry about scores. They scored tight on all 4 events. The area where it hurts is for the girls trying to win a National title on an event and AA. Being scored tightly in this first session makes it much harder to win a title. Last year LSU was on fire and in the night session and we walked away with 3 individual National titles. This year we could hit and not a single girl wins a National title because the 9.9s that win this session will turn into 9.925-9.95 in the night session.

honestly Campbell's routine was way better than a 9.85

Leap series was by far best of the season.

I saw two deductions, bent knees on one of the passes and small adjustment on the dismount. Should have been a 9.90

I disagree. Erin was slow and did not have the flow she usually has. She also was very bent over on her dismount, I guarantee the judges knocked her a half tenth for that, if not more. Myia had the slight balance check on her side aerial but everything else was solid and she attacked every element. Erin was just not herself tonight.

ESPN deserves a HUGE shoutout for this coverage. Commentary on every event and then Kathy & Bart on primary coverage. Gymnastics has come a long way!
