NCAA gives you the maximum number of schollies.

The schools choose how many they fill

It looks the gymnastics team is setup to be a contender for many years to come. This is a good move. I agree with everyone saying DD is about to hang it up. I hope they get her a Natty.

Also would like to point out is man this gymnastics team is full of hotties. Am I right?

LSU is already filling 12, and the interview indicates LSU is going to take it to 14.

However, the NCAA says the max is 12.
"Division I (DI) schools are permitted to have no more than 12 gymnasts on athletic grant-in-aid (scholarship) at any one point. DI Women's Gymnastics is what the NCAA calls a head-count sport. Students who receive athletic scholarship money are counted and the total number may not exceed 12 athletes"

So again, how can we decide arbitrarily to give 14? That would be like saying, "we decided we are going to fill 87 in football".

There must be more to this story.
