Bull. It’s an incoherent rambling so poorly thought out that it takes an obvious point that I even agree with and makes me want to believe the opposite just so I’m not no the same side as this moron.

His list of three quarterbacks makes no obvious sense and I can’t think of what they have in common other than they all played for LSU. It required explanation, which he completely failed to provide. Most of the article is spent taking cheap shots at Lee, who last time I checked, is the backup quarterback. Great. I know he thinks quarterback could be a problem next season. Thanks for pointing out the glaringly obvious. Now provide some actual analysis.

LSU's QB's will make their share of mistakes. I would think there are still growing pains to go thru until the QB's are title ready. I highly doubt they are NC caliber at the present time. Hopefully by seasons end and next year.

flynn had started one game before the 2007 season.

how much experience did he have before the title run?

the QB position is not what i'm concerned with this year... it's the DEFENSE.

if the defense would have been better coached last year, LSU goes 10-3 or 11-2.

Jamarcus Russell- All SEC, 1st pick of the draft
Josh Booty- All SEC QB
Matt Flynn- national champion QB

the point was, he doesn't think that as a Soph, he is ready to take that step to where those guys were.

Matt Mauck or Davey would have been 2 better names that he could ahve throw out, that REALLY would have hammered his point home.

Granted Booty maybe a horrible name to throw out, but he was ALL SEC and carved out a small niche as a backup QB in the NFL.

i guess its all about what you take out of it. A lot of people are booking that JJ is going to have a fantastic year based on 2 quarters of play in the Peach Bowl.

He has been the first one in the media to really call that theory out. It was a very good article with some interesting points, IMO.

-our QB position isnt stable.
-Jefferson is not proven
-jarrett Lee may be needed this year

kudos to him, some interesting points that i havent read from any other media member.

I think LSU fans are getting a little too comfy.

Why didn't Miles go after Bradford or McCoy at QB? I mean, the selection of QB's available were not scarce.

Funny, I think the exact opposite. Guilbeau is also making it sound like we thought Lee would be a world beater last year?

Name me an LSU fan who was COMFORTABLE with the qb situation at the start of last year?

The only reason LSU fans don't have to worry AS MUCH is because they both have game experience.

LSU needs a Big 12-style passer...like Bradford, McCoy and Harell.

Yes, I agree. I cant figure out why the coaches arent going after guys that are going to be sitting at Heisman ceremonies.

Flynn was practicing for three years prior.
Lee needs time to build on his confidence, JJ was in high school 15 months ago. The "most experienced" QB of the 4 is still a RS sophomore. There are still growing pains to go through.

no, its a very good, unbiased look at our QB position.

He says nothing about what Jefferson is lacking. Just that he didn't put up good stats as a freakin' true freshman. So there's no good analysis there, especially when he throws in the line at the end that LSU could have a different QB starting the next year. You better have more reasoning that what he says if you are going to say that!

you don't think them being great has anything to do with the conference they play in?

look at how great harrell and bradford were against the SEC...

Also, did I point out he felt LSU fans were comfortable with the guy from Harvard starting at QB last year?

I mean we all were buying his jersey and proclaiming SEC championships with our green qbs in 08!

Bradford looked the best against Florida compared to every other SEC QB that faced Florida (including Snead at Ole Miss).

The notion that we can just "go get" players like that at will is laughable. However, good point Doc. We dont need any Big 12 QBs. We need good SEC QBs. System and gameplan is a big deal in college football.

Yet he wasn't smart enough to do that.

Dude, 95% of the people covering LSU would say Jefferson isn't proven. You can't be serious there.

We need Scott Frost! Frost tore through SEC defenses, especially Tennessee and Florida.
