On another note, who the hell records this type of shite?

Since Ole Miss had the tape, I'm guessing they recorded it (common sense I guess, lol) but probably edited out the part where they counter offered with more than what they said Ms St. offered.

So, why in the hell would they record themselves cheating too? I mean, I'm sure they didn't just walk in and the mom started saying what's been offered. I'd imagine Miss brought it up first? I'm sure it's not the first time they've recorded a meeting with a recruit.

This won't go over well for Ole Miss' future recruiting if they make it known they secretly record meetings with prospective recruits. Bold move, but leave it to Ole Miss to continue to botch how they deal with the NCAA
Seriously, not only does it look horrible on Ole Miss that they recorded it and are turning in to snitches. They're also putting Lewis in a fricked up position.

I heard earlier on ESPN radio that the NCAA was granting immunity for the players to come talk to them and say what all happened. I hope that covers him with this situation as well.

Just wondering, what if Lewis left this out when talking to the NCAA? Will they try and come after him for improper benefits, saying that it wasn't covered under the immunity agreement if he didn't mention it then?

Of course, he could have told them, so it may already be taken care of, but I hope nothing happens to him if he didn't tell them the part with Ms. St. or other things that could be on the tape.

Hugh Freeze/Ole Miss football program have probably just killed their chances of getting any top recruits anymore. Would you go play for a coach who would rat you out if things didn't go his way? How stupid can Ole Miss be?

Doesn't mean I that Moo State actually offered anything to him. His mom may have been trying to leverage more from Ole Miss.
Great point. She knows how much Ole Miss hates Ms. St. and could have felt that was the perfect school to say to get more money out of Miss.

As a LSU fan you don't want said tape to see the light of day just because it's going to hurt a little bit in the court of public opinion.

A shady Ole Miss booster taped his mom and she said a few things about a couple of schools.I will say it's not going to matter the NCAA heard the tape already and it's a non-issue now.

State paid for him. Everyone who follows recruiting knew it on signing day and knows it now.

What I'd love to know is how much?

Remember, this is the same school that lost out on Cam Newton because they were too cheap.

If LSU was cheating, we would have gotten him. We're LSU. They're Moo State. We really, badly needed a linebacker in that class. You think we couldn't have outbid them if we were playing the same game?

Obviously, State has upped its ante, but this just goes to show that Les would rather play fair and lose than cheat and win. He's a genuine competitor and I love that about him. It may have cost him his job, but his conscience is clean and because he refused to go there Orgeron doesn't start out at a disadvantage because his predecessor made bad decisions.

Les even coyly implied at the Bayou Bash that year that State cheated to get him. Looking back at it, his comments about 'a linebacker we were expecting to sign' were his way of saying it without saying it.

Les isn't a snitch, but he was clearly frustrated that other SEC programs were breaking the rules and that his reluctance to do so had cost us depth at a very thin position.
