Only one problem with the comparison. Mathieu wasn't just caught testing positive or smoking a little weed. He was caught with 10 bags of weed, a digital scale, and a grinder. Those guys were selling. Don't be naive enough to say Mathieu wasn't involved in that.
Except Thamel wasn't investigating that because that hadn't happened yet.

Another response to the insinuation that TM was dealing. Couldn't he have just been picking up some, rather than dealing?

it's become sensationalism. That is what "journalism" is today. They break stories to beat everyone else. Often without checking facts. They don't care if it's true. They'll just site "sources" and throw them under the bus.

A bit off topic, but why so much hate for ND and Te'o? Notre Dame may not have been the 2nd best team in the country, but they certainly earned the right to get embarrassed. Just like Oklahoma State earned that right last season, but media bias pushed Bama in to the game. Seriously, where was all of the "game is meant to put the best two teams in BCNCG" that was repeated a billion times between the minute Bama lost until the final BCS rankings were released? Oregon lost in OT, didn't win their division, and were touted as the best team in the nation nearly the entire year....how come they weren't promoted nonstop as deserving a spot in Miami, since they were obviously one of the two best teams?
As for Te'o, dude is a damn good LB. He had a bad game in Miami, missed a few tackles, but shite happens. The Bama OL absolutely destroyed his DL leaving him engaged early and often. He finished with 14 tackles and several bad plays. If an embarrassing game after a season of nearly flawless play makes him a tremendously overhyped player, then our 2011 defense was just media hype as well. They gave up 6 scores, created no pressure, couldn't get the Bama offense off the field, and were thoroughly outplayed by the Bama offense the entire game.
