OBP isn't everything though, example Jared Mitchell. His strikeouts are rally killers.

If DJ is so much better than him, why has PM said munerus that Nola is the better SS (def.) not at the plate.

We can all agree that Hanover has been a bright spot in the lineup, but we can also argue that his defense has hurt latley.

There are two side to an inning and keeping the other team from scoring is just as improtant, if not more, than scoring runs. If they don't score they can't beat you.

but it kind of puts a dent in your argument to put nola on the bench, or if you do, then you have to want Hanover out too, right?

yeah, offensive is important but if the other team scores more than you, you lose.(sarcasm) that is where defensive is equally important

I can't believe the number of idiots that follow this baseball team. I heard numerous people today on 1210 complianing about staring Ross over AR. Ross and Co. GAVE UP 4 frickING RUNS.
Now people are continuing to questin paul's decision to put Nola at SS. Let him do his job. He is good at it.

My argument is Helenihi over Nola but its getting lost in the shuffle because everyone wants to talk about Ochinko or DJ. Thats not my point. Going into today, Helenihi's OBP is .390.

DJ has a better fielding % and include hitting and DJ is much better

yes it has but hes shown he is a consistent hitter

Nola doesnt pitch and he gets 3 or 4 balls hit to him a game. Id rather take him out of the lineup because he cant hit worth a shite.

Also, DJ can make 99% of the plays Nola can

why are ya'll arguing about DJ's offense being a factor in a debate for the better shortstop? he's in the lineup for his offense already, defense should be the only thing compared in your discussion

Helenihi lost his job twice. So you would put people where? DJ back to short, hanover to 2nd and helenihi to 3rd? It could work, but i that the best defense we have? Plus having helenihi coming off the bench as a pinch hitter is working out well late in the season.

wow, how idiotic is this, Nola effects more than 3 or 4 plays a game. And no, from the last year and a half, DJ can't make 99% of the plays Nola can. That was painfully obvious the first couple games Nola was in.

i just wanna know where the argument for Helenihi being in there was yesterday? We have plenty of role players with decent batting averages, haydel comes to mind. It doesn't mean they are suited to start. Helenihi had his chance last year and the beginning of this season.

agreed with josh.

If Nola is .00001% better than DJ in the field and DJ is 100% better than Nola at the dish, why does PM play Nola?
