I imagine it'll be a pretty ugly game in Tuscaloosa, especially if we shoot as poorly as we did against Auburn.

it's not a stretch to say he's the best athlete on the team.

I think in terms of pure athleticism Turner and Courtney and arguably a healthy Storm migh have a slight edge.

But conceding that Garret is one of the three or four best in terms of athleticsm is very telling.

because he's the one player on the team who actually appears to have improved, but how long has be been playing here?

this is my feelings, he moves so much better now and is always hustling. i didn't know how bad his back was? kinda felt he may just be getting better. as others have said he still does some stupid things, but so do all the others.

From all reports I've seen he's healthy in that regard now.

My only point was he's been practicing on a D-1 basketball team for long enough now to where he should at least have some fundemental understanding of post defense.

Kudos to him for his improvement in other areas. Needs to dial down the shoot everytime he gets the ball a bit, but when he's open I don't mind him shooting anymore.

I don't think it's that telling to say he is the best athlete on the team. Athlete =/= basketball player. He's pretty agile and can jump. He's not very strong and he can't finish around the rim, but he is athletic. He's got a nice outside shot for a big man, but he needs to play better around the rim.

He's athletic compared to me but relative to SEC basketball players in general and yeah he's decent in that regard, but I wouldn't put him in the top percentile athletically.

And that's what I mean by it's telling. If he's even argued to be the best athlete on our team that's telling as to where we are in relation to the teams we have to compete against.

If Green makes one shot...he's heat checking himself for atleast next 6 possessions

He ain't scared to shoot is he. When Trent was talking about players on the team hesitant to shoot he sure wasn't referring to GG.

The Dashing one tried his patented wrap around hook under the goal yesterday and basically just threw it in the stands

That would've been high comedy if I didn't care so much. One foot from the goal and he threw it four feet over.

I can't imagine he is the best athlete, but Green has been the best pleasant surprise this season. He could do almost nothing right last year and has actually put together some solid games this season. The biggest disappointment has to be Malcolm White.

He's Brad Bridgewater except he can't play defense as well as Brad did.

I thought he was our wait till next year guy. We should all be concerned when our best athlete is Garrett Green, per TJ. We are in for some hard times here with LSU bb with Trent Johnson. It is time to cut bait and hire a coach who knows how to recruit guys who are good enough to play in the SEC, in 3 years IMO he has recruited one kid of that quality Ralston Turner. The rest are projects at best

i've been a big trent johnson supporter from day one .. that being said, i don't believe in "rebuilding" in college basketball beyond one season .. maybe two TOPS .. not three and four like someone will have to do at a michigan in football ... you land three solid players in college hoops and you are back on the map ... we know the guy can coach .. look at what he did in his first year with a group of players that brady lost his job over because he was losing with them ... he won the SEC championship and went to the round of 32 in the NCAA tourney ... we knew the cupboard was going to be bare last year .. but i thought this season was supposed to be markedly better with 2011-2012 the season the program completely turns around ... 10-9 at this point and getting waxed at home by ole miss for their first SEC win of the season ain't gonna cut it ... where in the hell are the shooters ??!! this team can't shoot the fricking ball, can't make the chippies inside and goes through bad mental lapses on defense ... the only way this team wins games is if the opposition just straight up shoots far worse than we do ... trent's gotta find some perimeter scoring, gotta find a point guard that is just as effective going both directions with the ball .. etc. just for starters ... unless he's got some gems out there he is going to bring in next season, i can't see this group getting it done ..
