Easy game plan and have been saying it for years—make their LBs cover the pass. If the LBs have to cover, they can’t focus on just the run. Also makes at least one safety come down to help with pass and run. Opens up so many things. The problem is that we never through intermediate routes until this year. Their is a quote from Aranda from Spring or Summer about how he suggested to O that we throw more intermediate routes to force LBs to live outside of the box. Amazing how it opens up the run and deep balls. Alabama will have two choices —drop 7 like Auburn did (which makes them vulnerable to the run) or send 5-6 (which makes them vulnerable to big plays via sideline routes or slants). When we are on defense—stop the run, don’t let a back or TE beat you and keep the crossing routes in front by making solid tackles. Irv Smith killed us last year. Other years RBs killed us on screens or passes out of the back field. Stop the run, play those guys tight and don’t miss a tackle in a crossing route.

Borrow to 2, Burrow to 1, Burrow to 22, Burrow to 81, Burrow to 6. Rinse and repeat.

Miles mainly ran between tackles and mainly only threw outside hashes. Rarely did he throw deep middle and that was 2013. We all know why he refused to throw short and intermediate over the middle. We were handicapped very big game because we only used portions of the field in the run and pass games. Crazy pills. Yes we can attack their LBs with guys and beat them. If they are in cover 2 we can run. Dink and dunk all day. If they come down in box go wide. If they play press on outside go over top and use seams with te.

Warp. At least most of the time. Take their coaches out of the game. Make the Bama kids think on their own. The more time we look to the sidelines, the longer they have to adjust. The fake injuries seem to always occur when we are at warp
