Tubbs is a good coach, but he is very inconsistent. In a way, he is similar to Houston Nutt. He is great in the underdog role, but he struggles to manage a team with expectations. He had at least 3 highly touted teams that were complete disappointments. Also remember that Auburn wasn't expected to be a national player in 2004.

After one of those disappointing seasons, he scrapped his offense for the spread in a reactionary move to get some juice back with Saban taking all the headlines from across the state. We all know how that one worked out. His handling of that situation was a complete mess. He hires a new OC with a system that is the polar opposite of what they were running, but he keeps all of his buddies as position coaches. Then, when things didn't work out, he backs his boys and throws his OC under the bus in the MIDDLE OF A SEASON. As much flack as Miles catches from a lot of us, he handled this last offseason's changes with more skill and class than many of us expected. After making a mistake, he fixed it right, and at the right time. Miles looked a lot smarter than Tubby in this situation.

i hear he is waiting for the Panthers job to come available. He lives in NC now.

I'd be happy to pay Drew Brees to coach our QB's and WR's in the off season.

These are all really really bad choices IMO. Pelini and Muschamp are borderline at best. Dooley, Dunbar, and Crowton are all coordinator material at LSU, not head coach material.

Dunbar? Will we all live long enough to see a black Football Head Coach at LSU?

I think dooley will be a great head coach at a bcs school, I just don't want his first stop to be at lsu.
I'd also rather have a head coach that is defensively minded as opposed to the coaches that put so much emphasis on high-powered offenses and are more concerned with simply out-scoring the other team. I'd rather have a head coach that compliments an elite defense with a consistent offense.

I think Dooley is a strong candidate as well as Muschamp.

Gruden is also a good one.

Why are we having this discussion here and now?

Good Lord, no wonder Louisiana and LSU have the national reputations we seem to have.
