You can cheer all you want for Texas, but it's like cheering for the Titanic against the iceberg. The berg wins no matter. Gumps will eviscerate Texas.

That whiny bitch BRfit cried the following:
quote:

No self-respecting LSU fan can/would ever pull for Ala-freakin-bama, EVER, unless it directly helped LSU win the SEC/BCS~!!!!!!/END THREAD

Pure B.S, you whiny bitch.

How long have you been a Tiger fan? Did you even go to LSU? You sound like every other Johnny come lately bandwagon fan who doesn't remember anything about LSU prior to 1997. You're no better than Florida's Johnny come lately fans.

Whiny bitch.

Why should we pull for Bama? Here's why. We want Bama AND Florida to demolish their opponents to show how good the SEC is. It was an embarrassment when Bama lost to Utah. It embarrassed the entire conference. We should all want Bama and Florida to win every game next year except for one and that one game will be when LSU destroys them. Ole Miss too, for that matter. I want every team in the SEC to kick arse in every game EXCEPT when they play LSU. I want LSU to win every game by a final score of 700 to 0. I want the entire player on our team to score a touchdown in every game. I will watch every second and I will love it. I'm never bored when LSU is kicking arse. I don't want any game to be close, I want the band playing Tiger Rag every 10 seconds, touchdown after touchdown after touchdown.

You know why? Because I graduated from LSU (twice) and I sat in the student section until the final gun sounded during the dark days of Curley and 2-9.

So shut your whiny bitch arse up and root for the SEC in EVERY bowl game. Hate on Saban all you want, he brought up a national title and he made Tebow bawl like a baby, which is a hell of a lot better than what Curley wrought. Save your venom for when we play Bama. Rooting against Bama in the NC just makes you look like a bitter, whiny bitch. Bitter because we didn't beat them. Well we didn't beat Floriduh or Ole Piss either. Deal with it. Next year we will crush them. For now, grow up and quit being a whiny bitch. Show some class.

Whiny bitch. :wah:

Hard to be quite as pro-SEC as I've been in the past, but does LSU compete more with Bama or with UT?

I agree with the win every game but one concept pdxlsufan, HOWEVER when the outcome is not as such, you have to alter your thought process. The fact of the matter is, if Bama wins this thing, it WILL have a negative impact on our recruiting ability the next few season. Especially since Saban still has plenty of LA ties.

Weak. What you're really saying is that Saban can flat out recruit Les Miles, which is probably true whether Bama goes 13-0 or 12-1. If Miles were a better recruiter, it would be a moot point.

All this whining about Saban has one solution. Beat them: both on the field and in recruiting. You don't beat them by hoping they lose every game. You beat them by being better. If Miles and LSU aren't, then you blame Miles. You don't hope Bama fails and root for them to lose. It ain't classy and it smacks of bitterness, immaturity and whiny bitchiness.

Not that everyone who wants Bama to lose is a whiny bitch. I singled out BRfit because throughout this thread he rudely jumped the case of everyone who disagreed with his narrow point of view. So he's the only one I'm calling out as a whiny bitch because he's more than earned it. I ain't picking on anyone else because I'm sure you all have your reasons, mostly rooted in blind Saban hatred, which doesn't make you all that different from most LSU fans. I'm in the minority who is thankful for the national title he brought us, thankful he made Tebow cry and hope we beat the hell out of him every year (and every other SEC team). I'm old fashioned. I hate Ole Miss more. If we lose to them again next year, some of the bandwagon fans might agree with me about hating Ole Piss.

Me too. No true Tiger fan could EVER pull for Bama.

No true Tiger fan could EVER pull against an SEC school in a national championship game.

Never forget an undefeated Auburn getting shut out. How can you guys abandon our conference like that?!?!

I don't care who wins what except for LSU kicking Penn State's butt.

I was proud to call Auburn the 2004 national champs. They were undefeated, after all. I thought for sure an undefeated SEC team getting locked out of the BCS title game would get us a playoff but I seriously underestimated the resolve of the schools to keep the sham BCS system alive. An 8 game playoff would be so much cooler. One of the very few things Obama and I agree on. Not that it would have helped LSU this year since we lost to Ole Piss...

Okay that's great and all, but we didn't. Therefore it will hurt recruiting if they win. I understand the scenario you pose implying a win by LSU last month would have solved the problem. But we didn't. And sure blame could be placed on Miles. But just getting rid of him and hiring someone new would throw a major variable in the recruiting efforts. Never know how things could shape out.

Absolutely not the case for me. I want the best recruits (especially Louisiana natives) to play for the Tigers. Plain and simple. I would be pulling for Florida if they were in this game. We "rob" recruits from the state of Florida. UF hardly ever does the same in the state of LA. Bama is a different story.

You bet Miles is to blame. So the way I see it there are four options:

1) Fire Les Miles and hire Nick Saban
2) Kill Nick Saban or pray something "unfortunate" should befall him
3) Pray Les Miles steps up his game and both outrecruits Saban and beats him on the field of play
4) Fire Les Miles and hire a coach who can outrecruit and outcoach Saban

Because what I'm hearing is "we can't beat Saban at recruiting". And your solution is Bama needs to lose. Which is weak. If our coach is inadequate, say so. If this is some penis envy because Bama has the better coach, say so. But don't go around hoping and praying Bama loses so that we benefit. It's petty and it's bitter. You don't get better by praying bad things happen to your opponents. You get better by getting better and playing the best. I want every SEC school to be their best, but I want LSU to be 100 times better. If we ain't, that's our fault, not any other team's fault. Hope your opponents are good and be better. That way when we kick their arse we have something worth bragging about.

To build on your point, Bama was 6-7 in 2006 and 7-6 in 2007, the year we won a national title.

Did Bama's awful record in 2007 hurt Saban's recruiting in offseason prior to the 2008 season? Nope, Saban landed the #1 recruiting class in America in 2008, his first full recruiting season. Here's the proof.

And look at what Saban has done with kids he recruited on the heels of a 7-6 season (5 of those wins were later vacated). They went 12-2 last year and 13-0 so far this year. What's Les done with the recruits he landed on the heels of a national title? 8-5 and 9-3 so far this year.

Now I like Les Miles just fine and I'm still pissed that we ran off Cholly Mac, but all this hoping Bama loses is just a passive aggressive way of saying Bama's got the better coach and we can only win by having them lose. It's that how you really feel, then just admit Miles ain't as good of a coach as Saban and move on. The Bama fans won't think we're a bunch of whiny, bitter bitches and you can live with yourself. Miles is the football coach the same way Obama is the President. He may not have gotten your vote, but for now he's all you got. And Bama's got Saban. End of story.

You dont think 2 great seasons and bama and a NC appearence doesnt already help recruiting. Win or not they were there so it really doesnt matter. A recruit just wants a chance to win one being there is that chance IMO
