For ASU fans: Stuff to do while in BR
Posted on 8/16/08 at 12:35 am

Just thought we could get this out there 2 weeks early?
It'll be like a BR FAQ or something.
A thread to help visiting fans, instead of a thousand threads on the same related questions.
This season will be better for other fans to get recommendations for food on the food board.
So tiger fans, lets hear your idea's and/or suggestions for our visitors ASU.
*Tailgating spots
*Parking suggestions
*Things to do after the game
*Best places to eat
*Favorite bars
*Time the band will come down the hill
ASU fans, hope you have a great time.
I hope you enjoy your time down here, just not the final score of the game

okay well since nobody wants to contribute i'll go ahead and state the obvious ones. walk-ons and the chimes are two great places to eat

walk ons isn't that good. Its got a good view and cool location but food is subpar for price. much better off at the chimes.

*Tailgating spots - One spot is as good as the next and I won't be the trendy dummy who says, "Just move around...go up to as many spots as you can and ask for food...you'll get a friendly "tiger bait", but you'll get your belly fool." Anyway, find a spot and don't rely on everyone else to take care of you, although some will definitely be friendly.
*Parking suggestions - Let me know when you get a cure for cancer,jk. Honestly, get near stadium early and park at the side of River Road and then walk down Skip Bertman Drive...or find one of the many 10-20 dollar lots. If you don't have parking pass, this has always worked for us.
*Things to do after the game - Go back and tailgate and wait for traffic to die down. You can go to Walk-On's (in walking distance) if you like, but rarely do my friends, family and I wanna do that. I always just enjoy relaxing and not having to fight anymore crowds.
*Best places to eat - If you have two-three full days and nights...in any order...The Chimes, Pasttime's, Louie's (do this at 2 am on early Sat morning of the game), Sammie's, Juban's
*Favorite bars - Ivar's , Duvic's (and the others under bridge), The Chimes and Varsity Theatre, Pasttime's Lounge...maybe The Cadillac
*Time the band will come down the hill - I have done this once in the last 5 yrs. I don't know, but sure...don't miss it. If you do, don't sweat it.

Duvic's (and the others under bridge)
Duvic's closed this past week. It's out-of-business. I never went there, but Frank Duvic owned the greatest bar in the history of Tigertown: The Bayou!

maybe The Cadillac
I've heard "interesting" things about this place, particularly those dealing with older women.

For parking ON campus, I'd say get there before 10am. If you want a spot for a tent or any tables and a grill, set up the night before or at daybreak.
After the game? Well LSU has not mastered the art of moving massive numbers of people away. So I'd say walk over to The Chimes and Serrano's. Serrano's usually has a band in their parking lot and is a decent post game destination.

Doc thanks for the tips...The legendary LSU hospitality starts 2 weeks before we arrive!!...I can't wait...I am staying at Embassy suites with a slew of other App. State fans and I think we are going to meet there early on Sat. a.m. and 'caravan' over together...any suggestions on a time we should try to meet or where to go if we have say 5 or so cars and want to try to be close to each other??

you might want to include tips on New Orleans too, since alot of people will probably be staying there
and yes I realize that half of the posts about NOLA will involve bars at Bourbon and St. Anne
