Two questions...

One...is that controversial at all? Seems pretty cut and dry that he did not control the ball.

Two...how can they give an error on that? I didnt think you can "assume a double play"?

He controlled the ball through the tag. The rule is pretty fricking dumb.

But it does from the fact that it's a continuation of one play.

Sounds like you know it already. Why ask if you know better?

That is why I am asking.

The announcer said FSU with the controversial lead

And

He announced that they scored the run on an error.

I did not think it was either which is why I was asking others.

That’s why catchers should use two hands for tag when they can. I think I was taught this about 2nd grade

They have 3... Tigers have 0

What's controversial about that?

The only thing controversial is the piss colored unis FSU wears. Terrible color, they need to bring back the yellow/gold.

You don’t really need to hands. It’s just being lackadaisical and lack of concentration. Ruined a great play.

How can it not be an error?

The catcher should have gone down in the dirt put your knee and shoulder in the direction of oncoming runner and when runner initiated collision you take him out

RULE #1. HOLD THE BALL WITH 2 HANDS WHEN APPLYING ANY frickING TAG

By getting the force at 1st, it eliminates the “continuation” of the double play. It’s an error because if Garza simply controls the call, it’s an out
