you are nuts, losing Chavis has been a huge blow, the ball was in LSUs court and wouldn't make contract concessions. We get a mediocre man to replace him, Chavis late game problems are more an issue with being paired with an incompetent offense for most of his tenure.

Couldn't be more right

Regardless of whether you think Chavis was great or Chavis was bad I think this quote is true.

OSU defence stopped a scoring machine while their offence turned the ball over four times. So what you say that our defence should not be able to stop someone else offence with a lead and two minutes to go.

I don't out o or d keep us in leads through out most games. Our offence could score to take lead late into a game and need one stop. Defence is our strength

No one really thought LSU would hire Steele as DC. I'd take Chavis back in a heartbeat.
I was leisurely going about my evening and decided to check TD to see if there was any news. I first read "LSU hires Steele" as "LSU hires Smart" and I thought okay, DC Bama, getting from under Saban's wings, would like to see what he could do.

Then I looked again and grasped the enormity of this horrible hire.

I agree. Not sure this will make us better than before. Hopefully time will prove us wrong.

It's amazing that the same fans who hated "3RD and Chavis" are now saying the hire was terrible

True and when the LSU defense starts kicking arse next year, most of them will be on the bandwagon again. Or start picking on another aspect of LSU....This place is nothing more than a bunch bloody kiddy cats needing a tampon shoved deep in their rectums.

Which posters?
I'm not going to spend the time looking up past posts to find names of the people who have said that Chavis was over-rated and that they hated "3RD and Chavis", but there have been dozens upon dozens of posts the last few weeks stating these things. And if you have spent anytime at all on here since Chavis left, you have probably seen some of them. I personally didn't want Chavis to leave, but the way his leaving played out, I wouldn't want him back. I am ready to give this new guy a chance to sink or swim next year and I'll hope for the best.

How the hell can you people be happy with the state of the program.

5 losses. 4 SEC losses. Shut out against ARK. Blown out by a 4 loss AU team. No offense to speak of. Lose the guy that resurrected the LSU D after Miles Co-D experiment. Hire a replacement whose resume is shotty at best.

Had we got Pendergast and Orgeron I'd believe that we were better off with Chavis gone.

Check my post history, I've been pumping sunshine on the board pretty consistently and I know that this is just speculation but DAMN.
