We are staying at the Peabody in Memphis on Friday - I've just found info about staying in Grenada after the game - Thank you!

Do yourself a favor. Pass on the Rendezvous, even though it’s just across the street, and go to either Central BBQ or the BBQ Shop. Central is Downtown but you will want to drive or Uber. I personally prefer the Shop, but it’s a few miles more. Both are a LOT better than Rendezvous or Corkys.

Another fun place if you are looking for something indoors is the Crosstown Concourse. A few good restaurants there and several desert and coffee places. If you go, don’t pass up Area 51 Ice Cream. They are actually based in Hernando, where I live, and the lady that runs the place and her staff hand make everything. All of their seasonal flavors are made with fresh local produce. It’s the best ice cream I’ve ever had.

Try and stay in Batesville. There are a couple nice hotels off I55.

I went two years ago, but my SO has friends that live in Oxford that went to Ole Miss so we had a big group to tailgate with. It’s a blast and there isn’t a bad seat in VHS. I can see it sucking though if you are going alone or with a small group. Some of their fans are really stuck up

I live in Memphis, for hotels I recommend Lakeland & Collierville towns or outskirts of the city. Avoid anything on Lamar ave or brooks rd like the plague.

The Peabody is fun to stay at just to do it. If you ever come back for an Ole Piss game, Southaven, Olive Branch or Hernando in North MS are easier options. Two are on 55 and the other is right on Hwy 78. Both routes will get you to Oxford quickly and Southaven and OB have plenty of hotels to choose from. Hernando is further south, but only has a few hotels.

Elvis Costello is playing Friday night in Memphis, and so are the Grizzlies vs Jazz. Parking and traffic is a nightmare leaving Oxford.

The Grizz are rebuilding and will be pretty rough this season, but that game may be close to a packed house. That will be Mike Conley’s first game back after being traded this offseason. That dude is loved here in Memphis, and for good reason. If you are interested in that game, buy tix before you come.

No advice on where to stay. I wii offer this. Remove any flags, stickers that are representative of LSU. I’ve been there for two LSU games. My first trip, my car was keyed. My son suggested I remove the flags. I told him he’s been reading too many message balls. People don’t do that kind of things. I learned my lesson. My car was keyed from the trunk down the passenger side to the front fender. My second trip I had nothing on my car that indicated I was an LSU fan. I hated ole piss to begin with, I really can’t stand them now.

Oxford just opened a parking garage right by the square. They have parking for the game. If you want free parking you can park at stone park and there is a rails to trails that takes you right to the stadium. If that fills up there is a elementary school about 1/2 block from stone park. Last time I drove by they were charging a few bucks for parking. The trail is between the elementary school and stone park. The elementary school never seems to get filled up.
