Holt's HR hit the top bleacher in right field I'd say about 20 feet or so left of the pole. Bomb, no doubter off the bat.

Berry's never got more than 10 feet higher than the fence and I didn't see exactly where it hit but I heard the cannon blast sound as it hit the bleachers. It was crushed.

I think I left just before Crews hit his homer.

Holt has more power but looks tiny out there. Cranford is by far the smoothest fielder out there. If he hits, will have to put him out there. Berry looks VERY shaky at 3B. Could easily see Doughty at 3B and Cranford at 2B with Berrry at DH. Cranford might sneak in at SS. There will be some really good kids cut and some really good kids not starting. SLU, Tulane, UNO and USL may pick up some good players after our cuts.

Cranford is not going to start in this lineup

I just wonder if the Ks have to do with Johnson preaching loud contact. Not that he doesn’t also want quality abs but he may be transitioning their mindset to a more power approach for extra base hits. If so, it may take a minute for the guys to adjust (especially when going against our own pitchers, who know our tendencies).

outside of certain situations, you should come out of your cleats for one or even two of your strikes. or that is what the guys that i know that played pre-Mainieri say that each at bat should be.

Been around Holt since he was a middle schooler. He's not close to 5'9". He's 5'7". And he might weight 160 if LSU has put some weight on him. But he's got a quick, compact swing and can generate some power with his bat speed. He's quick as lightning and he can motor.
