If the record of success Les has in his career at LSU, to this point in time, is an example of "moron" like coaching behavior, I can only hope our next coach at LSU can be the same type "moron".

If our next coach is like Les Miles, then the 90s will seem like the good ole days.

Again, you are wrong. The issue at Ole Miss was a clock issue but it is NOT indicative of his WHOLE CAREER and several of the other instances people use against him are just plain false. (i.e. Penn State, Auburn 07, etc...)

Hiring assistants is one of his strengths; Gundy, Pelini, Porter, Gonzales, Wilson, Yanowski, Haley, Chavis, Moffitt, etc...

All you've got against him is the Co-DC mistake that was corrected after just one year and people have turned on Crowton. Crowton was considered a genius and I personally will not be surprised if he is considered that again after this year...

He has seemed to be very on top of it on hiring good coaches outside the one co-dc instance. I think this is the year to see how Crowton does. I could have understood parting ways with him, but it seems like they could have just hit a rough spot with injuries, youth, and recruit bust.

Do I think he's a top three SEC coach, yes and I also think that makes him top three nationally because I think the best three coaches and programs are in the SEC.

Right now he is in third place but he could still be on top.

I think Miles has the ability to run the program very well. I also think he is a good man to be a face of LSU football. I think he is definitely worthy of the money if people believe the elite deserve that much in the first place.

SO I take it you started following LSU in 2008 because NOBODY that follows LSU or CFB thought 2008 was a perfect or even good situation.

You sir, have no business discussing LSU because you have no clue!

So, Les Miles only won the NC in 2007 because he had Saban's players? Well I guess that means if we had rehired Curly Hallman in '05 then he coulda won one too? I don't care who recruited the players and how good they were before, if Miles didn't know what he was doing the NC wouldn't have happened.

Wow. Posts like these will probably make me get banned. How is he a top three SEC coach, when Houston Nutt clearly owns Miles.
Wow.
Sorry admins, but sometimes there are some people on this board that say the most unbelievable bullshite ever.
Top 3 coach.

Meyer
Saban
Nutt
then maybe Miles

As if Nutt didn't have a shitload of luck every time he has beaten miles. Give it a rest.

People like you could see us go 0-12 and say "well, we can't win EVERY game" and think we should keep him. Stupid, and completely irrelevant to the discussion.

It's ludicrous to think that I or supporters of LSU's program since before you were probably born would tolerate a 0-12 campaign.

By the mere fact that you decided to respond to my expectations refutes your "irrelevant" claim. If it was that irrelevant, move on to comment on another post. You wasted a lot of your time...STUPID.

Is Coker good enough for us? If not, then Miles sure isn't.

You can throw Coker in as much as you want, but every reasonable/non-agenda driven college football fan in the free world knows Coker was released cause the actions of his players on and off the field became an embarrassment for the school and the state. When the governor of Florida and president of your school call out your football teams for their actions, you can start packing your bags.

I don't know of anything like that going on at LSU and I'm pretty sure if there was anything like that going on at LSU the Miles bashers would let us know.

So, take that tired/weak arse argument of yours some place else cause it holds no ground with me.

You have to be retarded for this statement.

No matter what Les Miles does, he will always be compared to coaches whose team and players improve and have passion on the sidelines.

I agree with the premise of our post, but I believe this is a fairer framing of the issue. Nick Saban does not have a monopoly on good coaching, but he does raise a pretty high standard.

Thanks for showing us the just how far a Miles basher will go to push his agenda.

If you really think the Miles years here, to this point, have ANY resemblance to the 90ies, you are truly a clueless young man.

No, you idiot. He had a perfect situation when he took over in 2005. In three years, he turned it into a 8-5 team. He fricked up. Then he was given a chance to correct the frickup. He failed.

And as for NOBODY thinking it was even a good situation in 2008, I seem to recall being ranked in the top 10 going into the season and the consensus on this board in the preseason prediction poll being 10-2 or better. Less than 5% thought it would be 7-5 or worse in the regular season. Funny that you make a reference to starting following LSU in 2008 when it's obvious you started even later than that.

The truth is that NOBODY thought Miles could frick up the program as badly as he did in 2008. After he amazed us with his incompetence in that year, we stupidly gave him another year to correct the problem, and he failed. It's time to say goodbye to Curley/Mike/Gerry/Les.

This is looking like the late 1980s, when an 8-4 campaign in 1988 was ignored because it also featured an SEC championship, then the bottom fell out in 1989. Up until then, Mike Archer had a very fine record.

And of course the years to date have not been like the 90s yet. If you could read, you would know I didn't say that. I said if our NEXT coach is like Les Miles, that's where we're headed. Miles has brought the program down several notches, and will continue to bring it down further until the bottom falls out and he is fired. If his successor is just like him, the 90s will indeed seem like the good old days.

Answer the question. Why does LSU squeak by the crappy teams and lose to the top 25 teams? If Miles is such a fine coach and has all this talent at his disposal, why are they not prepared to play? Again, tell me 1 game (outside of GT) that Miles played against a lesser talented team and whipped the shite out of them as LSU should do against most of the teams on the schedule?

WOW, do you really think he's that good. Or maybe it's that he's just so much better than Curly Obama.
