I'm not saying Chavis shouldnt have recognized the problem or talent differential, but as the head coach you ultimately have to make that call. That is what comes with the job and big paycheck. You have to stand behind the decisions of those you appoint, good and bad. It was a bad decision for Welter to be playing over Beckwith and it was equally bad to not give Harris some reps in these last few games. All coaches should be held accountable for this, but as the head coach these decisions are yours. He can always and most assuredly has, overruled his coaches in the past. Not overruling on these issues are his problem.

no im suggesting you guys are fricking miserable people.

The d is good because Les lets chavis coach. The o sucks because les meddles.

But now you are saying you want Les to meddle in the defense.

Just make up your fricking mind.

what some of you guys dont want to realize is the truth. The oc calls the offense. the dc calls the defense. I mean chavis is the linebacker coach. Or do you think its peveto that told him to start welter?

what a joke

Since some of you are so smart I'm gonna add my 2 cents: Beckwith was so much better that DJ from the start and Beckwith knew the calls and could call the defensive plays all along but the coaches (all of them) insisted on playing DJ because.....all you experts can finish this sentence

Did you not think the defense improved tremendously after Welter was benched for Beckwith? Do you think that Beckwith woke up one day and could instantaneously "get it " to the point of being a dominant MLB. Does Miles bare no responsibility of having less talented players on the field. Should he be accountable for anything like wins and loses. according to you he shouldnt because he doesnt call the defense or offense. Who should be accountable? Are you just satisfied that this is the best product we can field with our collection of 4 - 5 star players. Nobody is suggesting that Les meddle in either offense or defense, but when it is obvious that the wrong guys are playing isnt his job to correct it.

It improved, but it took a few games before it was "tremendously" improved. And although Beckwith is more talented then Welter, Beckwith has had his fair share of defensive breakdowns this season as well.

Honestly we don't know if DJ was Chavis's boy or Les' boy and we will probably never know. Either way, it was a mistake. AJ on the other hand seems to be a Les pick. IMO they are both bad choices that probably cost us
games. The head coach has to do a better job in these spots no matter how well he recruits or how successful he has been in the past.

As young as both QBs are, I haven't had a problem with Jennings being the starter. My hang-up with the quarterback position is that I believe Harris should be getting some playing time in every game. Doesn't matter if LSU is blowing the opposition out or if LSU is getting beat. Jennings has struggled but not all of his failures are totally on him. The line play has been sporadic and the receivers have dropped too many passes.
