This year wasn’t bad and it wasn’t good. Paul left a semi talented team, depleted in arms. There were great moments like Vandy and completely WTF moments like Ole Piss.

That being said JJ has to host a regional next year minimal, including advancing to a Super. Anything less and he has begun to underperform. Most of us expected a shot a Omaha in year 2 or year 3 and that is still what we should hold him to. If he fails to host a regional next year his seat begins to warm, especially if it is another performance like this year. Not hosting in year 3 should be the end.

Sucks to lose like this, but we have to be rational in our expectations. He took over a 13-17 team that probably only made the regionals because of the retirement of Paul and flipped the record, with less arms and could’ve won the west. Next year is the make or break year for him.

Regional host. Nothing less. It’s that simple.

#1 recruiting class is a good start. Hopefully we don’t get screwed too badly by the draft.
