Look at the teams...and calling it the hardest schedule 4 weeks in is idiocy. Thats why the BCS rankings don't come out until week 7 or 8. You can't say UNC is the best team before they play their first game, then they lose 2 straight. Then you come off looking like an a-hole.

Vandy and Miss State, not the best in the SEC.
A UNC team at half strenght.
And West Virginia from the mighty Big East...

yeah, tough schedule

Relative to our peers in the SEC we have played a tougher schedule. We haven't played Duke, San Jose State or Jacksonville State.

If you want to call Jeff Sagarin an idiot, do it directly.

I'm sorry we couldn't make you happy and open the season with Alabama, Texas, Florida and Boise State. We'll open next season with Oregon. In the meantime, we have mediocre QBs so perhaps you just be thankful we didn't schedule even tougher OOC opponents this September.

I have liked Miles since he got to LSU, unlike alot of my family, but Crowton needs to go!!!! How do you have a top 10 or top 5 recruiting class every year and be 115th out of 120th in OFFENSE???? I am not a Saban die hard, but it is obvious that he got the most out of his talent and his teams were much more disciplined. All in all, I dont want Miles to go, I want Crowton gone.....I say let him go before the next game and lets see what Gonzales does on his own.

I don't give a shite who we play OOC. But we are not a great team right now. I know you POSITIGERS are gonna say, "we're undefeated" but that doesn't mean shite this early in the season. Hell if thats your reasoning, i guess we should just give Boise State the title.
Yall are so blind by your LOVE of Miles, that you can't see through the trees. There IS a problem with our offense, and not addressing it and adjusting will lead us down the EXACT same road as the last 2 years, guarenteed. Thats why us "negatigers" are upset. We want to fix the problem now instead of sticking our fingers in our ears and going "nah, nah, nah, we're undefeated" like you folk are doing. Reminds me alot of the blind faith in Obama the dems have. Just doesn't make sense.

He could go 11-2 with losses to Alabama and Florida and a New Year’s bowl victory and Tiger fans would continue to deride and excoriate him unmercifully. He may seriously contemplate his departure from Tiger Town.

The fact that Les Miles has won as many games as he has, is unblemished in terms of losses this season, and still is referred to by LSU fans as an “idiot,” a “moron” and a “buffoon,” speaks volumes to the ultimate reason why Les Miles just may leave LSU if given the opportunity. Tiger fans should be extremely careful what they wish for.

+1
Miles goes to Michigan or ND due to constant bitching by LSU fans, the LSU A.D. goes hunting and gets another hot-shot Rich Rodriguez (?Harbaugh), goes 6-6 or worse for next 3 years. Could this realistically happen?

Chris,I know Coach Miles is a great character guy but it is becoming increasingly painful to watch this talented offense be so offensive. It may not be Coach Miles fault directly, but he does have a say so over G. Crowton. This team should be averaging 35 to 42 pts per game, even with an average QB.Hate to be critical, but JJ is the worst QB LSU has had since Fred Haynes, who wasn't near this bad. Hell, put B.Bailey back there can't get worse. This team has a great chance to win the West Div. but it needs someone to play QB and quit making excuses. Best DEFENSE I've seen since the 69 team. Let's not waste it. Chris, still think your the best blog writer on LSU Football. Geaux Tigers!!!!

Actually, I don't love Miles. I don't hate him either. I have my issues with Miles, Crowton and even our QBs but I'm being PATIENT with Miles and the rest of them. Just as I was PATIENT with Saban and Jimbo after Bama handed us a crushing 31-0 defeat. I had a lot of time to develop patience during the 80s and 90s. There is a time for venting like a furious volcano at the AD. I've been there. We vented our rage on talk radio in 1994.

Actually, it's the NegaTigers who are chanting "Change!" and telling me I'm for "More of the Same!" Quit trying to impeach my coach before the season is over. Let them play the goddamn season out.

If Les continually loses to Alabama and Florida he really does have to go. We will not win SEC or national championships without beating these two teams or at least one of these each year. That's the bottom line. Do we settle for 2nd or 3rd best in the conference after winning 2 national championships this decade or do we bring in a coach who actually can do what has to be done to return to title contender? Only time will tell.

Last season is over. The 2008 season is over. By your logic, what will the rest of the 2010 season prove? Even if we collapse again this year like we have the last two years and finish 7-5 or 8-4, won't you still be saying we need to be patient and wait until the 2011 season plays out? And then 2012, etc.?

I've never understood why, but I've understood for a long time that there are just some people who think a coach should never be fired, no matter how bad he is.

Jeff Sagarin will tell you himself that his rankings aren't even intended to be accurate at this point in the season.

How ridiculous. Obviously you weren't around in the 1980s while Miami was winning national championships right and left in a half-empty stadium. The performance on the field is close to 100% of the equation. WIN and everything else takes care of itself. And for those who chirp "4-0", forget about it. We haven't played anybody yet, and we're still a 8-5 or 9-4 team waiting to happen, just like the last two years when we started 4-0 and 5-0.

Did we play 4 BCS schools to start last years season? Did we play 2 ranked teams in the first 4 weeks last season? Did we have one of the hardest schedules in the first 4 games of ANYONE else in college football?

We played three BCS schools in the first four games of 2009, including two SEC games and two road games. We were 4-0 and then, the next week, won a road game at Georgia to go to 5-0 heading into the Florida game. But from there, we limped to a 4-4 finish.

In 2008, we played a road game at a top-ten ranked opponent within the first four games. We won that and were 4-0 going into the Florida game. From there, we collapsed to a 4-5 finish.

There is no way in hell North Carolina is a top 25 team with all their players out like they were when we played them. Just because poll voters overrated them in the preseason before they lost all those players doesn't mean we played anybody that day. As for West Virginia, they are unranked right now, and does anybody with a brain think they could go .500 in the SEC this year?

As for hardest schedules, we haven't played anybody as good as Penn State or Arkansas yet, so Alabama has played a tougher one. We haven't played anybody as good as South Carolina or Auburn yet, so they both, along with everyone they've played, have played a tougher schedule than we have. We haven't played anybody as good as Alabama yet, so everyone they've played has played a tougher schedule than we have. I could go on and on, but it won't do any good with people who adhere to the stupid principle that playing #1 and #100 is the same as playing #50 and #51.

The bottom line is that this "we're 4-0 so STFU" bullshite has been proven absolutely and unquestionably wrong in each of the past two years, so you folks who keep propping yourselves up with it are just making yourselves look stupid.
