quote:Maybe in positions 20-100 you are correct, but no team in the top 20 would want Miles at their program, or to be in our shoes right now. None. We aren't a bottom 20 program, we are a top 10 program (or were), but we aren't being given top 10 coaching and leadership.
I guarantee there are 100 other programs who would love to be in our position right now. Think before you post.

Are you simple? Me wanting LSU to win a national championship every year makes me a bama fan?
LSU will never make you happy.

we lost to Ole Miss' second string, fans are fricking pissed off.
Should not have happened, elite teams don't lose this game.
People are looking at other elite teams, especially the one in the division, to see what gives.
Human Nature.

So let me get this straight: you don't want to win national championships every year because wanting to makes you a bad fan because you're envious of other teams that do win them PLUS you're ok with losing to teams that are worse than us to begin with AND have more than half their starting defense out because hey, we're still better than teams 14-120.

But we lost to a depleted unranked ole miss. I know many here have unreasonably high expectations but many also would understand a loss to Bama a&m and even UGA. But we just lost in a very ugly way to fricking ole miss- Unranked and injury decimated ole miss. That is simply not acceptable. It is inexcusable and inexplicable to lose like that to a team like that. Plain and simple. I'm not calling for miles head, but as fans it's not out of line to thoroughly criticize miles and his coordinators for not preparing this team and not making good decisions during the game. That's all.
Couldn't agree more.
Why is it that we always play to the level of our opponet?
The worse thing about the loss this week is we still have to play bama and a&m. I would have been fine with a 2 loss season or even 3 losses if they were UGA bama and A&M. I am just hoping our team can come out and play their best against these two teams and get by with wins.

My point to these Les-bashers is that if you're unhappy with the Miles era, you're never ever going to be happy with LSU football. It is very likely that, only because of parity and whatever law of averages you choose to see, there will never be another coach in the future who has more success at LSU than Les Miles has had. So if you can't be happy with that, you probably will never be a happy LSU fan. Even if there was a coach in the future who had more success at LSU, I'm all but certain that most of these nega-Tigers would treat that coach pretty much the same way they're treating Miles.
In short, I say to the Les-bashers, the problem isn't Les. It's you.
(I've used the "royal" "you" in this post--"you" does not refer to you. It refers to "them.")

Get a grip on what? That's the opposite what myself and others are saying we want and you're saying we're foolish for wanting it.
What's so foolish with wanting to win the national championship every year considering that it can be done? And maybe we don't win it, but we play like we should against lesser teams and be serious contender late into the season. And what's wrong with wanting to be among the top elite teams, not just the top teams in general?

Most people who saw 11 players to the NFL leaving knew this would not be easy.... I hate people on this board.

You've explained nothing. All I've read is that me wanting our program to be equal or better than the best program currently makes me a bad fan. And that I should accept it and not be mad when our team plays a game like it did against a team in the situation ole miss is in.

Just went back and read all your posts in this thread. It screams complacency and acceptance of our situation. Basically saying you're not the AD so who are you to judge. Or "want to be like bama, go be a bama fan".
I use "we" in my posts because I am an LSU fan, I went to LSU, I spend money on LSU athletics. It's a product I buy and I want it to be the best it can be. I'm not ok with what happened on Saturday. I don't want to fire anyone, but I want to know why it happened and what we can do to fix it.

"never be another coach in the future who has more success" and those questioning Miles are negative? Ballcaster also stated that the "problem" is the "royal" you. At least you, not the "royal" you, are not so delusional as not to identify that a problem exists.
Since you are evidently satisfied with being an "also ran", you should always be happy with LSU's current football position. I envy your happiness, but not your acceptance of under achievement.

The problem is that we have an ex coach wrecking shite who is in the same division.
As long as the dude is there, Miles will be compared to him. Its an impossible spot for Miles, because Saban is going down as the GOAT while he's at Alabama.
This doesn't make up for the bullshite loss on Saturday, I'm livid like most. But this is the predicament Miles is in.
No one in the country can measure up to whats happening in T town, only one school holds the crystal every year.
Do I think we should be competitive every year and be in position for a natty, absolutely. But you have to look at the situation from afar and see that Miles can never hope to measure up to Saban, no one coaching college can at the moment.

If this stuff gets you bent out of shape, then that's your problem and not anybody else's. And if a coach as successful as Miles can get you this angry, you'll never be happy with LSU football.
Ballcaster also stated that the "problem" is the "royal" you.

There are also more than 100 guys out there who would love to be in Les's position.
That is very true but how many of those guys could do the job as well as MIles? The number of coaches is more limited than that. Is MIles the best coach out there? Obviously not, but where does he rank and no matter what people think the reality is pretty high.
