If history has taught us about Les it's that he is only as good as his coordinators. If he has a good offensive or defensive coordinators then his teams perform well on that side of the ball. The reverse is also true.

One might also argue "competent QB's" could be interchanged with "coordinators"

And what head coach wins big with bad coordinators?
Stupid comment, dude, really stupid.

so that's why he was fired fro mthe Ravens?
He was fired because it's easier to replace an OC than a franchise QB in the NFL. Flacco's head outgrew a controlling OC. Controlling coaches work well on the college level.

As opposed to Saban, or Meyer, or Spurrier, or Belichik, or Coughlin, or Lombardi--all of whom could go undefeated even with lousy coordinators?

Les plays to the other team's level. We play a tough schedule. This could work for us, sadly.

Of course, that still leaves all the older head in the sand pumper people to deal with.
shite I really haven't seen people tripping here that much lately, except for the SEC rant that place is just a mental ward of retards.

Yep. Not to mention the "It makes me look really smart and cool to bash folks who have succeeded more wildly in their profession than I can ever hope to do in mine (if I had one)" crowd.
