GeauxZone has never "picked up" road games. The only time road games were shown was when the other school was using the same company that we use (neulion now, but was something different previously), and it just let us watch their broadcast.

And like you said, the regionals that were shown were at home. I think there was a rule that if there was going to be a live stream then it had to be available for free. So if there is going to be a live feed it will have to be handled by UCLA.

Sorry for the terminology mishap. You're right, they don't "pick up" the games. I just recall watching us play UGA on the road last season on the GZ.

I know the Big XII tournament was streamed for free on their big12network.com site. Hopefully UCLA has the mental capacity to pull this off. However, since it's not basketball, they probably don't give a shite.

This could be a nice place to vent about the Fullerton regional being on tv instead of ours.

Re CST, they also broadcast a lot of Arkansas games. Would they just go there instead of trying to do something in California?

yes, CST is guaranteed to be able to televise at least one regional every year with their coverage of LSU, Arkansas, or Texas A&M

There is a history of ESPN broadcating the Fullerton regional. Last year was the first in a few that it wasn't. Strasburg was the reason last year.

Also.....DON'T HATE!

c'mon Dean, u know as well as anyone, NOBODY wants to see that regional

the only reason I'll be watching is to root for Stanford

BTW how do u feel about this matchup? mixed emotions?

Done. I still don't see any logical reason for the Fullerton regional to be on TV over ours. It might only be because of UCLA's poor excuse for a home stadium... and if that's the case, it's really frustrating that the Tigers are 3000 miles away and no one will be able to watch the most exciting 1st round matchup in the "Group of Death".

Nonetheless,

CST, get on it!!! I say send Ben McDonald and Lynn Rollins to do the game... and of course Ronnie Rantz roaming the seats behind homeplate. But as an added bonus, you add Jordy Hultberg to interview all of the celebs in the crowd. Highest rated CST broadcast ever!

Ok here is the deal I think. ESPN chose Fullerton BEFORE the regionals were selected. Another poster said towers were already in place yesterday.

Honkus. We have the toughest #4 in the tourney, but I like the draw I think. Fullerton has 4 solid starters so we could still throw our #3 vs. Minny. Stanford is solid, but I think the Titans prevail.

Sucks for me to have Fullerton and LSU matched up so early if it happens.

Last year it seemed that every regional was on television somewhere, looks like they are stepping back on that. Also, last year I remember that NCAA.com offered free streaming video to every region, does anyone else remember this? I watched the 20-something inning game that Texas played in.

Not every regional was on TV. ESPN picked up their usual two. Then local companies like CST picked up some others.

All Super Regionals are on the ESPN family if I'm not mistaken.

If the host school is capable of streaming video, and wants to stream it, it must be free. I'm sure the NCAA would provide the link, but it isn't streamed by the NCAA.

I think you're right about the supers being all broadcasted, I recall that now. I didn't mean to infer that the ncaa would stream up, but yea, they would just link to the local feed that is videoing.

And since UCLA is pathetic they aren't streaming. Looks like those of us with Charter are stuck with Mr. Hawthorne for the biggest games of the year.
