And I love how Palmer said USC was better then us and would have been a better match up against Alabama.

Nobody, outside the NFL, would have beaten Bama that night. They played perfect and our ineffectiveness at the QB position made them look even better. If that's possible!

Bama was the best team in the nation.

The best team deserves to play for the BCS Title.

Does not compute.

I know this argument needs to just stop, but let me just clarify to you what "deserve" means.

There is no doubt that Bama was the best team in the country last year, no one is going to deny you all of that.

A championship is something that is rewarded to a team/player for their body of work, not just for passing the eyeball test.

I know that it's human nature to rationalize something that goes in your own favor, as Bama fans have done for their spot in the BCSNCG. But honestly, can you give me one reason, besides being the best team in terms of skill, coaching, etc. for "deserving" a spot in the title game? Keep in mind, "deserve" means to earn by body of work.

LSU didn't "deserve" to have to beat Bama twice in a football season with Bama only having to beat LSU once.
