LSU would have had to look outside Louisiana to find enough linemen and linebackers to challenge for championships even with the studs you named. Despite the abundance of talent in Louisiana, it is not always distributed among the positions to form a football team with depth.
nothing poodlebrained about that statement !

BUT... all it takes is one or two years of taking the foot off the gas and you're immediately sent to the back of the line.
I actually think this is why Dinardo failed... He started getting into other things (ie restaurant) and soaking in the love the lsu press was throwing at him and he lost focus.

All of those things, plus the losing Carl Reese to Texas and then hiring Lou Tepper.

Miles still won a championship with Crowton so i think tepper was more of the symptom of the problem than being the problem.

I've never really thought about it like that, but you may be right.

Would he have if he'd have kept Doug Mallory and Bradley Dale Peveto as co-defensive coordinators.
Unlike Dinardo, Miles has been smart enough to make the coaching changes necessary to improve.

I'm late to this party but I don't care... This is the Rant quote of 2011.
AWESOME! I'm going to refrain from reading the Rant for the rest of the day because I just don't think it can get any better than that. If a post within a thread could be stickied...
to you Sir!!!

The non-LSU fan will tell you that our football program didn't exist until Nick Saban came along and birthed it from his golden vagina. But I'm over 40 and know this to be bullshite.
