It's one way or the other! Either the conference title has meaning or it doesn't! If it doesn't mean anything then they need to stop having it! It can't be subjective because of certain circumstances....how is that even remotely fair to other conferences?

Does Bama want some CHEESE with that WHINE?

This LSU TEAM is the best there is and will beat whoever shows up in the dome on 1/9/12....So for me, I'm celebrating LSU's best season ever and not thinking about #2..

This.
Why do so many people not understand this simple fact? If we enjoy and respect the ratings system, then respect that Alabama is IN FACT the second best team -- according to the ratings system we have no problem with -- and therefore, by rights, are the opponent in the BCS Championship game.
The other "arguments" about "do-overs", "rematch", etc., are just ideas, not reasoned thinking.

How do we know bama is in fact the second best team? The eye test is garbage....who thought okie state would lose to iowa? Iowa sure as hell doesnt pass the eye test but they won.
We know that lsu beat bama right? We know bama didn't win their conference....we know bama had the opportunity to be #1.....if there is a rematch we will never find out.....oh well it doesn't matter what I say or anybody else says on here....our thoughts and ideas carry no weight and will not change the minds of the voters

You're over thinking it with irrelevancies.
If you accept the system we have, imperfect as it is -- the BCS ratings -- then there is no argument: it's 'Bama at No. 2.
And No. 1 should play No. 2, regardless of any other "considerations".

They only mean something in regards to reputation.
Like right now in the eyes of voters.
We've had this conversation MANY times before. If you have 3 conference champs......a Pac 12, ACC and SEC champ go undefeated and you have 2 spots who gets in and who doesnt?
Now with the climate as it stands right now the SEC CHAMP has more weight due to reputation and the championship run/streak its on right now. So basically we are saying that SEC champion worth >>>> everyone else.
So it MEANS SOMETHING if we are determining who's record/schedule is stronger because the stronger conference or the conference with a reputation of providing strong teams will win out over those perceived as being weak or overrated.
