I'd say on #5 tier. But good call. He's certainly that.

i would say martin would be around 6 along with somebody like buster davis.

and i believe that lafell also passes early this year with a good year and depending on how good could pass bowe/clayton also. now if he has a josh reed kinda year i think he passes wendall also.

No argument. In fairness to Eric Martin, his #s were pretty impressive for back in the day when everyone knew it was a throwing down, and many times where it would be thrown. IMO, he was probably more like Early than anyone else on the list was like the others, if you get my drift.

Bowe had a better career and is and will forever be a much better pro.

Early was good but, in my opinion, he never really lived up to the hype.

I won't argue either point you make. But, hype is hype. He came through for LSU in the long haul.

Any pass to Bowe was an adventure prior to his final season. Early missed much of his Sr. Season, if you do the stats they were similar with Bowe more of a deep threat and Early a possession and clutch guy. The td from Jamarcus vs AZ State in 05 a prime example.

Early was much more consistent throughout his career, had he played all his sr. season his stats would eclipse Bowes, though Bowe was a TD machine.

If you are judging based on Bowes final season only, Bowe would be the guy.

everytime the ball left JR's hand i would get all giddy. Bowe, davis, early, man 06 was probably my favorite season.

Oh, when i saw the title post i lol!! Bowe definitley. Early could catch anything well thrown or not. Bowe was like a laron landry reciever. Just brutal over the middle. Fun as hell to watch. And who ever thinks that bowe wasn't as clutch as early is retarded, he was jr's favorite reciever for christ sake.

I see lafell having a bowe type season this year. He has the speed, build and is very physical. Lets hope his hands have improved.

Bowe will have the better pro career. But at LSU man both had some awesome plays. Bowe probably had better stats? Both guys made some plays. Bowe dropped more, but defenses were probably more scared of him. He was such a threat after the catch.

Bowe was better. Early, as many have already posted, was clutch but Bowe (after Lasik) was the physical, dependable WR you need in this league. A guy who can make catches in traffic, take a couple of hits and still stay on his feet for the YACs. Check out the last drive on the 06 Auburn game (bad game, I know) where Bowe caught it, took a couple of good licks but stood his ground and went out of bounds. Signature Bowe play. Early was elusive but he wasn't as physical as DB.

Boew dropped a lot of passes as a junior.
Early was injured a lot.
I always thought more of Doucet.

One receiver you all leave off. Yes, I am older, but I saw him play and catch passes from his 1st cousin who was Bert Jones.

Andy Hamilton. Not the fastest, but the best route running receiver with the best set of hands ever to play at LSU.

Clarence Ellis was an All-American for Notre Dame. Hamilton made him look like a fool.
